3. Locate the inner heatshield (see Figure 3). Loosen (DO NOT REMOVE)
the top two (2) center mounting screws (circled). Remove the remaining
four (4) mounting screws. Slide the top of the heatshield toward the
back, then upward to remove. Re-tighten the top two (2) center screws.
4. Remove the firebox rear panel mounting screws (see Figure 4). Lift
upward to remove the firebox rear panel (a flathead screwdriver may
be necessary to pry upward using the four (4) pry points on the top
of the panel). Reinstall the six (6) screws that were removed from the
sides of the panel.
5. Loosen (DO NOT REMOVE) the four (4) nailing flange mounting screws on
the sides of the fireplace as shown. Slide nailing flange onto screw head
and re-tighten. DO NOT fold over yet (see Figure 4).
INSTALL FIREPLACE INTO FRAMING
6. Install the fireplace into the framing cavity as described in the fireplace’s
Installation Instructions. Bend the rear nailing flanges against the 2”x4”
jack studs and fasten in place with wood screws.
COMPLETE SEE-THRU CONVERSION
7. Insert the Interior Door Assembly into the lower channel that the rear panel
was removed from and fasten the top with four (4) hex head screws (see
Figure 5). Be sure to clean both sides of the glass before installing.
NOTE: THE INTERIOR DOOR ASSEMBLY MUST BE INSTALLED NOW AND
CANNOT BE INSTALLED/REMOVED AFTER THIS STEP.
8. Remove the six (6) outside facing phillips head screws and the six (6)
upward facing hex screws from the upper wrapper, saving the screws.
Install the larger upper wrapper that came in the kit in reverse order
(see Figure 6).
9. Install the Pipe Shield and Header Shield similarly to the front with the
supplied hex head screws. Install the header standoffs to the top of the
fireplace using the supplied hex head screws (see Figure 6).
NOTE: It is not necessary to install Pipe or Header Shield on Vent
Free Models.

INSTALL NON-COMBUSTIBLE BOARD KIT
10. Locate the Non-Combustible Board Kit wrapped in cardboard. Open and
discard the largest of the four pieces in kit as this is not applicable to
the install (discarded board measures 50-3/8" x 11-3/4"). The board that
shipped loose within the outdoor see-thru kit will be the top board. Install
the four non-combustible boards as shown in Figure 7 using the supplied
Phillips Head Bugle Drywall Screws. The holes in the non-combustible
boards will line up with pre-cut holes on the facia of the fireplace.
NOTE: Board Measurements:
Fireboard, Top (1/2” x 50-3/8" x 13-3/4")
Fireboard, Bottom (1/2” x 50-3/8" x 9")
Fireboard, Side (1/2” x 40-5/8 x 4-3/8)
INSTALL INNER SHEATHING UP TO NON-COMBUSTIBLE BOARD
11. Install combustible 1/2" thick sheathing (not supplied) down to the
adjoining edges of the non-combustible board (see Figure 7).
INSTALL OUTDOOR SEE-THRU KIT
12. Insert the Inner Glass Mounting Assembly into the fireplace opening
(see Figure 8). There are three slotted holes on each side that will cor-
respond with mounting holes on both sides of the fireplace. Fasten to
the fireplace with six (6) hex head screws.
13. There is a top and bottom to the Outer Glass Mounting Assembly. See
*Note* in detail of Figure 9 for correct orientation. The top overlaps
the sides and the sides overlap the bottom to prevent potential water
infiltration.
14. Install the Outer Glass Mounting Assembly to the Inner Glass Mounting
Assembly with 14 self drilling Bugle Screws around the perimeter. The
circular holes on the outer assembly will correspond to the square holes
on the inner assembly. Ensure the screws drill and bite into the fireplace
behind the non-combustible boards (see Figure 9).

INSTALL HOUSE WRAP
16. Install building paper (house wrap) down to the fireplace opening, over-
lapping the outer most mounting flanges of the Outer Glass Mounting
Assembly (see Figure 11).
INSTALL EXTERIOR SIDING
17. Install Exterior Sheathing/Finishing material over the building paper,
down to the fireplace opening (see Figure 12, Exterior Minimum Clear-
ances, Page 5). Apply silicone around the perimeter of the fireplace
opening where it adjoins the sheathing (see Figure 13).
18. Clean the Interior Door Assembly facing the exterior of the home. Use
a vacuum to clean up any remnants of building materials that may have
fallen into the fireplace cavity (Inner/Outer Glass Mount) during instal-
lation.

INSTALL GLASS AND BEZEL ASSEMBLY
20. Clean the Inner Tempered piece of glass, front and back (it may be
necessary to use latex gloves to prevent fingerprints). Place the glass
face down on a soft flat surface (cardboard, towel, etc.) on the exterior
side of the fireplace. Firmly place the Glass Removal/Installation suction
tool onto the center of the glass. Clamp the handles together, creating a
strong suction on the glass (ensure strong suction). Carefully place the
glass into the cavity behind the Outer Glass Mount. Lift/angle the glass
upward into the Upper Glass Channel and then place the bottom edge of
the glass into the Lower Glass Channel (see Figures 13 and 14). Release
the suction tool and wipe off any marks left behind during installation.

21. Loosely place two (2) socket head screws into the two bottom center
mounting holes. Clean the Exterior Door glass inside and out. Place the
bottom slots on the Exterior Door Assembly over the socket head screws,
capturing the bottom of the door. Loosely place the rest of the socket
head screws around the perimeter of the door. Once all screws are in
place, tighten the screws, compressing the rubber gasket on the door
(see Figure 15).
22. Place the magnetic Bezel Assembly onto the Exterior Door Assembly,
centering top/bottom, left and right.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
It may be necessary to clean the glass and the exterior parts of the See-Thru
assembly periodically. Remove the Bezel, Exterior Door and Inner Tempered
Glass in reverse order of how it was installed shown above. Use a cloth and
window cleaner to clean the glass and exterior facing surfaces. Note: The
glass on the Interior Door Assembly facing the inside of the house must be
cleaned from the inside by removing the Front Door and Barrier Assemblies
(see Installation and Operation Instructions for fireplace).
