Technical Info & Set-Up Recommendations
Z-Wave™ is a two-way RF mesh networking technology. What
this means for you, the user, is that your network becomes
stronger each time you add a new device.
Each device in a Z-Wave™ network is designed to act as a
repeater. Repeaters can re-transmit the RF signal to ensure
that the signal is received at its intended destination (i.e., by
one of your devices) by routing the signal around obstacles.
Best Practices
1. For best results, do not move or relocate devices after they
have been included into the network. Z-Wave™ devices
should be plugged-in or hardwired at the location where they
will be used. If you wish to move a device, first delete it from
the network, then include it back into the network after you
have moved it.
2. To include a device, be sure that it is not already included in
a network. If the device is already included in a network, you
must first reset the device by following the instructions for
exclusion.
