in accordance with water and electrical regulations.
Before commencing installation make sure you have all the fittings required. These
may include:
Flexi hose with inline shut off valve (not supplied).
25 amp minimum isolator switch (not supplied).
You will also require fittings that are site specific.
Installation
Before installation ensure your water and electrical supply are isolated.
Place the INSTA-80 Supreme in the desired fitting location.
The INSTA-80 Supreme can be used with Watersave recommended extras
such as Sensor Taps and Showerheads.
Plumbing installation
If using cold feed only (Figure 16), connect the cold mains water supply to
the water inlet (on right) at the bottom of the INSTA-80 Supreme.
If using hot feed only (Figure 27), connect the existing hot water feed to the
water inlet (on right) at the bottom of the INSTA-80 Supreme.
o Note! An in line shut off valve must be installed during
plumbing of the INSTA-80 Supreme.
o Minimum Constant water flow rate of 1.2 litres per minute.
o Maximum water pressure of 4 bar.
The Hot water outlet is connected to the hot water supply of the tap.
o When connecting to a sensor or push tap. Connect the hot water
supply from INSTA-80 Supreme direct to the tap.
o When connecting as a shower. Connect the hot water supply from
the INSTA-80 Supreme to the shower hose.
For optimum performance, the flow rate should not exceed 3 litres per
minute. The flow rate can be regulated using the in-line valve. The flow rate
should be regulated to optimise the temperature the end user needs.
Your INSTA-80 Supreme is now fully plumbed.
You can now turn on the cold-water supply and check for leaks.
12
If the INSTA-80 Supreme has been fitted with a sensor tap or push tap.
Operate the taps as normal to get the INSTA-80 Supreme to heat the water.
Electrical installation
Note! Ensure that your electricity has been isolated at the mcb first. The
INSTA-80 Supreme requires an mcb with a rating of 25 amps. The INSTA-
80 Supreme can be connected to the electrical supply by 25 amp minimum
Isolator Switch.
Wiring Isolator Switch (Page 8).
Brown/live, blue/neutral, green yellow/earth to be connected to a
minimum 25 amp isolator switch.
Finalising the electrical install

Turn on the 25 amp isolator switch.
To power up the INSTA-80 Supreme touch the power on/off button once
Electrical installation is now complete.
Electrical Installation must be carried out by a professional.
Quick set up guide
INSTA-80 Display
1. Turn on the main power supply , it shows spray on display
(Standby mode).
13
2. Press both button & at the same time, then it will show P”,
(Power setting mode) or “H”, (constant temperature setting mode).
3. Press power button .
4. “P” will then display. Use the ⋀ to bring the setting to 10.
5. Press power button .
6. “H” will then display. Use the or ⋁ to set the temperature to your desired
setting. i.e. 55C for kitchens or 43C for washrooms/hairdressers.
7. Once the temperature is set, the display will blink 3 times. It will then
revert to the incoming water temperature.
8. When you turn on the tap the water will quickly heat to the temperature
you have set.
Changing the Kw power setting
1. Setting limited power: On standby mode , press . In 5 seconds, it will
show , you can touch one time, it will show , then touch again,
it will show . Here 55, 45, 35 means 5.5kw, 4.5kw & 3.5kw, which makes
the INSTA-80 Supreme work under this setting. 5.5kw recommended.
2. Sleeping mode: When no water is available or water stops suddenly, it will show
. 4 mins later, it will turn to standby mode and then once water
flows, it will automatically revert back its original setting. The INSTA-80
Supreme has a memory function that allows the unit to keep your previous
settings.
3. The flow of the water also determines the temperature. The greater the flow of
water the lower the temperature.
4. When being used as an inline heater on the hot water line. The setting we have
found most common are H = 55 and P = 10. The kW setting can be either 45 or
55 depending on the flow rate desired by the customer. 55 recommended. When
used with a cold water supply the most common settings are H = 55, P = 10 and
the kW setting is 55.
14
5. Ambient water temperatures effect the settings required. i.e. Higher incoming
ambient water temperatures require lower kW settings.
Commissioning
Assuming you have installed the INSTA-80 Supreme correctly please commission
as follows.
How to get hot water flowing from your INSTA-80 Supreme:
Ensure the inline valve from the cold water supply is open.
Ensure the inline valve from the INSTA-80 Supreme hot water supply is
turned on fully.
Turn your tap to cold to make sure the water is flowing.
Check the temperature of the incoming cold water.
Turn off the cold water at the tap.
Make sure the isolating valve from the old hot water supply system is
turned off.
Make sure the flow rate does not exceed 2.5 litres per minute by adjusting
the inline valve between the cold water supply and the INSTA-80 Supreme
Check the power switch to see what power setting the INSTA-80 Supreme
is set at. The water should now be at your desired temperature. Please see
Diagram 1.0 for flow rate to temperature calculations.
Bring the tap lever back towards the off position and the INSTA-80
Supreme will power off.
In winter the power setting is likely to be P10 and in summer depending on
ambient water temperatures may be as low as P6 to achieve maximum flow
rates at temperatures of 55°c.
Your tap can be used as a normal mixer tap.
Cleaning
The INSTA-80 Supreme should be cleaned using only soapy water and a non-
abrasive cloth/sponge.
