your new product. You have chosen a
high quality product. The instructions for
use are part of the product. They contain
important information concerning safety, use and
disposal. Before using the product, please
familiarise yourself with all of the safety information
and instructions for use. Only use the product as
described and for the specified applications. If you
pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure
that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
NOTE: The record player is mainly referred as
“the product” in this manual.
Intended use
This record player is a consumer electronics
product. The product is intended for the playing of
vinyl/shellack records and, when connected to a
computer, for recording as well as digitizing these
records.
The product is only intended for private, not
commercial use. Any other use is considered
improper. Any claims resulting from the incorrect
use of or unapproved modifications to the product
are unwarranted. Any such use is at your own risk.
The manufacturer is not liable for any damages that
arise due to failure to observe the instructions for
use, incorrect use, incorrect repairs, unauthorized
modifications, or use of unapproved replacement
parts.

This product does not contain any parts which
can be serviced by the user. Never open the
housing of the product or the power supply.

Check the product before every use!
Discontinue use if any damage to the product
or the connection cable is detected!
Do no aim to alter the product or the power
supply.
If you notice anything unusual during use
(e.g. unusual noise, strange odour or smoke),
switch the product off immediately. Disconnect
the power supply from power and disconnect
all cables as well. Do not use the product
anymore.
Sudden temperature changes may cause
condensation inside the product. In this case,
allow the product to acclimate for some time
before using it!
Do not place burning candles or open fire on
or near the product.
Do not use the product near heat sources such
as radiators or other devices emitting heat!
Do not expose the product or the power supply
to high temperatures.
Protect the product from dripping and
spray water. Only use the product in a dry
environment!
Do not places vases or similar containers on
or in the vicinity of the product. The container
might topple and the liquid might cause a
short circuit. If liquids have entered the product
or the power supply, disconnect the product
immediately from the wall outlet. The product
shall only be used again after an expert has
examined it.
Always touch the power supply at its housing,
do not pull at its cable in order to disconnect it

no internal parts requiring maintenance.
The product is for indoor use only.
To avoid possible hearing damage, do

Choose place of installation
When choosing where to set up your record player,
take the following conditions into account to ensure
that the product works safely and correctly:
Place the product on a firm, flat and horizontal
base.
Do not set up the product up in an environment
that is hot, wet, very damp (e.g. in a
bathroom), or near flammable material. Protect
the product from direct sunlight and impacts.
Do not remove the adjustable feet from the
product. Otherwise air circulation cannot be
guaranteed.
Ensure that the plug is always easily accessible,
so that you can unplug the power supply

The surfaces of furniture may contain
components that can corrode and soften the
product‘s rubber feet. If necessary, place a mat
under the product‘s adjustable feet.

Do not use the phono connector of your
amplifier to connect the record player. This
might cause damage to your amplifier and
record player.
Connecting the product to
electricity supply
When connecting the product to the electricity
supply, please consider the following tips to ensure
that the product works safely and correctly:
Before you connect the product, compare the
connection data (voltage and frequency) on
the type plate of the power supply
(model:

) with that of
your electricity network. These data must
correspond, otherwise damage may be caused
to the product.
Make sure that the connection cable is
undamaged and does not pass over hot
surfaces and / or sharp edges.
Make sure that the connection cable is not taut
to avoid tripping hazards.

Handling records
Only touch record players with clean hands,
and by their edges. Touching the surface of a
record causes the sound quality to deteriorate.
Do not touch the grooves.
To clean records, use a soft anti-static cloth
and a vinyl/shellack record cleaning agent
(available at specialty retailers) to carefully
wipe the surface.
Store records in a dark, cool place and in their
protective sleeves when they are not in use.
Always store records upright.
Do not expose records to direct sunlight; do
not place them near heat sources (radiators,
ovens, etc.), or in places that are affected by
vibrations, too much dust, heat, cold or damp.

computer

You will need a computer with a free USB port
and a Microsoft

Connection
Plug the USB cable

USB port. The product will be recognised
automatically, and all necessary drivers will be
installed.
NOTE: If you connect the product using a
different USB port, the drivers will be installed
again.
Install and configure Audacity
NOTES:
These instructions for use only describe the
settings and program parts that are required
for the recording and conversion of records.
You can find further information on the Internet
at: http://audacity.sourceforge.net.
The illustrations relate to the Microsoft
®
Windows
®
XP operating system. The screen
depiction may be different in other operating
systems.
Installation
Insert the supplied Audacity Program CD
into your computer‘s CD drive. Installation
starts automatically and the window
“Setup - Audacity“ is displayed.
Click “Next >“.
NOTES:
If you have turned of the auto-start function
and the installation procedure does not
start automatically, start the installation
procedure by double clicking on the file
audacity-win-2.1.3.exe“ in the folder
audacity_for_WIN“.
Language settings: Upon installation, the
language settings follow the default language
of your operating system. When starting the
installation routine there is a query for your
preferred language. The language settings
can be manually changed at any time in the
“Preferences“ menu.

The window “Information“ will be displayed.
Click “Next >“.
The window for the selection of the installation
directory will be displayed.
Choose the desired installation directory and
click “Next >“.
The window showing further installation options will
be displayed.
Select your desired options and click “Next >“.
All installation settings will be displayed.
Click “Install“.

The program will now be installed. The installation
progress will be displayed.
When installation is complete, this will also be
displayed.
Click “Finish >“. If the option “Launch
Audacity“ is selected, the program will start.
Configuration
NOTE: This action is required if you want to
use recording to MP3 format.
Load the “lame_enc.dll“ file from the internet.
Click on “Download“.
Move the file into the Audacity Installation
Directory.
Start “Audacity” by double clicking on the
program symbol on your desktop, or select the
relevant item in your start menu.
Select the menu item “Preferences“ in the “Edit“
menu.
Select “Devices“.
Change the following settings in the area
“Recording“:
Channel: “2 (stereo)“
Select the option “Listen to new tracks during
reproduction“ if you wish the record player to
play back during recording.
The option “USB Audio CODEC“ is only available
if you have correctly connected the record player
before you start the program.
Select the tab “Libraries“.
Click on “Locate...“.

An information window will be displayed.
Click “Browse...“.
Select the directory which contains the file
“lame_enc.dll“.
Select the file and click “OK“.
You can export files in MP3 format. If you click
on “DOWNLOAD” you will be directed to the
LAME download page. Follow the download
instructions and save the file anywhere on your
computer.
Select the sample rate for the MP3 file.
Select the file and click “OK“.

Starting Audacity
Start Audacity by double clicking on the
program symbol on your desktop, or select the
relevant item in your start menu.
Setting the recording level
NOTE: It is not possible to set the recording
level in all operating systems.
In the operating system mixer settings, set up
the recording level so that the level metre does
not exceed -6 dB.
Recording with Audacity
Start the program Audacity.
Start record playback.
Click on . Recording will start.
To interrupt recording, click on .
To restart recording, click on again.
To stop recording, click on . The audio track
contains the recorded data.

If you wish for sound to be transmitted via
your computer speaker at the same time as
recording, select “input signal“ in the menu
below the level metre.
Select this menu item again to switch off
playback.
Exporting records
You can save your recordings as 3 different data
formats.
Export recording as single file
Select one of the following items in the Menu
“Data“ to export the recording as the relevant
data format:
– “Export as WAV...“ (normal Audio),
– “Export as MP3...“ (compressed Audio),
– “Export as Ogg...“ (compressed and
lossless).
Select the target directory and enter a data
name, then click “Save“. WAV and Ogg file
formats will be saved.
If you are exporting an MP3 file, the window “Edit
ID3-Tags (MP3)“ will be displayed. You can enter
information here that will be saved in the ID3 tag in
the MP3 file. You do not necessarily have to enter
anything.
Click “OK“. The MP3 file will be saved.
Separate recording into individual files
Activate the selection tool (refer to screenshot
in
Audacity
chapter, p. 15).
Move the cursor within the audio track to the
beginning of the area that should be exported.
Press the left mouse key and hold it pressed
down.
With the left mouse key still pressed down,
move the cursor to the end of the area that is
to be exported (refer to screenshot in
Audacity
chapter, p. 15).
Then, release the mouse key. The area is now
marked.
Select one of the following items in the Menu
“Data“ to export the recording as the relevant
data format:
“Export selected as WAV...“
“Export selected as MP3...“
“Export selected as Ogg...“
Select the target directory and enter a data
name, then click “Save“. WAV and Ogg file
formats will be saved.
If you are exporting an MP3 file, the window “Edit
ID3-Tags (MP3)“ will be displayed. You can enter
information here that will be saved in the ID3 tag in
the MP3 file. You do not necessarily have to enter
anything.

Click “OK“. The MP3 file will be saved.
Repeat these steps to export further parts of the
recording as individual files.
NOTE: The window to enter information for
the ID3 tag of MP3 files only appears for the
first export. The data that you entered for the
first export is used for all other parts.
Listen to music in AUX Mode
Plug the end of the AUX cable (3.5 mm jack
plug cable – not included in delivery) into the
AUX input jack

Removing an old pickup

Cleaning the product
Do not immerse the product in water or other
liquids.
Avoid all contact between the product and
water or damp and wet conditions.
Do not use any strong cleaning products, as
these will damage the product.
Avoid contact with sharp objects, as these can
damage the product.
Clean the product with a soft, dry and lint-free
cloth. If stains are persistent, a lightly moistened
cloth with a mild cleaning agent may be used.

If this terminal is connected when there is a
lot of noise, the noise can be reduced. Note
that depending on the turntable, connecting
the ground line may have the reverse effect of
increasing noise. In this case, it is not necessary
to connect the ground line.

household refuse but must be returned to special
collection sites, recycling depots or waste

guidelines and meticulously examined before
delivery. In the event of product defects you have
legal rights against the retailer of this product.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the
date of purchase. Should this product show any
fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years
from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace
it – at our choice – free of charge to you.
The warranty period begins on the date of
purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt
in a safe location. This document is required as
your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes
void if the product has been damaged, or used or
maintained improperly.
The warranty applies to defects in material
or manufacture. This warranty does not cover
product parts subject to normal wear, thus

οδηγίες χρήσης είναι μέρος αυτού του προϊόντος.

Προβλεπόμενη χρήση
Αυτό το πικάπ είναι μια ηλεκτρονική συσκευή
