high quality product. The instructions for

use are part of the product. They contain

important information concerning safety, use and

disposal. Before using the product, please

familiarise yourself with all of the safety information

described and for the speciﬁed applications. If you

NOTE: The record player is mainly referred as

“the product” in this manual.

This record player is a consumer electronics

product. The product is intended for the playing of

vinyl/shellack records and, when connected to a

computer, for recording as well as digitizing these

records.

The product is only intended for private, not

commercial use. Any other use is considered

improper. Any claims resulting from the incorrect

use of or unapproved modiﬁcations to the product

are unwarranted. Any such use is at your own risk.

The manufacturer is not liable for any damages that

arise due to failure to observe the instructions for

use, incorrect use, incorrect repairs, unauthorized

 Check the product before every use!

Discontinue use if any damage to the product

or the connection cable is detected!

 Do no aim to alter the product or the power

supply.

 If you notice anything unusual during use

(e.g. unusual noise, strange odour or smoke),

switch the product oﬀ immediately. Disconnect

the power supply from power and disconnect

all cables as well. Do not use the product

anymore.

 Sudden temperature changes may cause

condensation inside the product. In this case,

allow the product to acclimate for some time

before using it!

 Do not place burning candles or open ﬁre on

or near the product.

 Do not use the product near heat sources such

as radiators or other devices emitting heat!

 Do not expose the product or the power supply

to high temperatures.

 Protect the product from dripping and

spray water. Only use the product in a dry

environment!

Do not places vases or similar containers on

 Choose place of installation

When choosing where to set up your record player,

take the following conditions into account to ensure

that the product works safely and correctly:

 Place the product on a ﬁrm, ﬂat and horizontal

base.

 Do not set up the product up in an environment

that is hot, wet, very damp (e.g. in a

bathroom), or near ﬂammable material. Protect

the product from direct sunlight and impacts.

 Do not remove the adjustable feet from the

product. Otherwise air circulation cannot be

guaranteed.

 Ensure that the plug is always easily accessible,

so that you can unplug the power supply

quickly if necessary.

 The surfaces of furniture may contain

components that can corrode and soften the

product‘s rubber feet. If necessary, place a mat

under the product‘s adjustable feet.

. Ensure that every jack is plugged

in according to the correct colour (red and

white).

 Plug the other end of the cinch cable

into

the Line In socket of your ampliﬁer. Music that

is played using the product will now be played

through the external ampliﬁer in addition to

through the built in speaker

ATTENTION

 Do not use the phono connector of your

ampliﬁer to connect the record player. This

might cause damage to your ampliﬁer and

record player.

 Connecting the product to

electricity supply

When connecting the product to the electricity

supply, please consider the following tips to ensure

that the product works safely and correctly:

 Before you connect the product, compare the

connection data (voltage and frequency) on

the type plate of the power supply

(model:

) with that of

your electricity network. These data must

correspond, otherwise damage may be caused

to the product.

 Make sure that the connection cable is

undamaged and does not pass over hot

surfaces and / or sharp edges.

 Make sure that the connection cable is not taut

to avoid tripping hazards.

 Connect the barrel jack of the power supply

with the to the DC input jack

 Plug power supply into a well-reachable power

outlet.

 Turning the product on and oﬀ

 Turn the record player

on using the POWER

 Adjust the volume using the volume control

To raise the volume, turn the volume control

clockwise. To lower the volume, turn the volume

control

anti-clockwise.

 Handling records

 Only touch record players with clean hands,

and by their edges. Touching the surface of a

record causes the sound quality to deteriorate.

 Do not touch the grooves.

 To clean records, use a soft anti-static cloth

and a vinyl/shellack record cleaning agent

(available at specialty retailers) to carefully

wipe the surface.

 Store records in a dark, cool place and in their

protective sleeves when they are not in use.

 Always store records upright.

 Do not expose records to direct sunlight; do

not place them near heat sources (radiators,

ovens, etc.), or in places that are aﬀected by

vibrations, too much dust, heat, cold or damp.

 Playing records

 Remove the head-shell

by gently pushing if

forwards on the pickup needle

 Pick up the record by the edges and place

it carefully over the centre spindle

on the

turntable

If you are playing a single with a large hole in

the centre, place the single adaptor

on the

centre spindle

ﬁrst.

 Select the desired playback speed using the

speed selector switch

(the correct setting is

indicated on the record).

Records may have the following speeds:

33 rpm = long-playing record (LP)

45 rpm = singles and 12 maxi singles

78 rpm = for shellac records

 Release the tonearm

from the tonearm rest

by pushing the safety lever

gently to

the side.

 Raise the tonearm

by carefully pushing the

cue lever

back.

 Swing the tonearm

to the song you wish

to listen to . Pull the the cue lever

slowly

forward to lower the pickup needle

onto

the record. The record player switches on

automatically as soon as the tonearm

moved from its rest

towards the left.

 As soon as the tonearm

has reached the

middle of the record and therefore the end of

the recording, it will lift up and position itself on

the rest

The record player then turns oﬀ.

NOTE: After use – Always secure the

tonearm

by allowing the safety lever

lock into place.

 Press the POWER button

to turn oﬀ the

record player

NOTE: Always ensure that the tonearm

secured before transporting the product.

 Operating the product during

playback

 Brieﬂy interrupt playback: Push back the cue

lever

. Playback stops; the record player

continues to operate.

Stop playback: Swing the tonearm

back on

the rest

. The record player then turns oﬀ.

ATTENTION! Do not turn the record player

oﬀ while the pickup needle

is still resting on

the record. This may damage the record.

Always lift the tonearm

with the cue

You will need a computer with a free USB port

and a Microsoft

operating system of at least

 Connection

 Plug the USB cable

into the USB port

on the record player and into your computer‘s

USB port. The product will be recognised

automatically, and all necessary drivers will be

installed.

NOTE: If you connect the product using a

diﬀerent USB port, the drivers will be installed

again.

 Install and conﬁgure Audacity

NOTES:

 These instructions for use only describe the

settings and program parts that are required

for the recording and conversion of records.

You can ﬁnd further information on the Internet

at: http://audacity.sourceforge.net.

 The illustrations relate to the Microsoft

Windows

XP operating system. The screen

depiction may be diﬀerent in other operating

systems.

 Installation

 Insert the supplied Audacity Program CD

into your computer‘s CD drive. Installation

starts automatically and the window

“Setup - Audacity“ is displayed.

 Click “Next >“.

NOTES:

 If you have turned of the auto-start function

and the installation procedure does not

start automatically, start the installation

procedure by double clicking on the ﬁle

“audacity-win-2.1.3.exe“ in the folder

“audacity_for_WIN“.

 Language settings: Upon installation, the

language settings follow the default language

of your operating system. When starting the

installation routine there is a query for your

preferred language. The language settings

can be manually changed at any time in the

“Preferences“ menu.

The window “Information“ will be displayed.

 Click “Next >“.

The window for the selection of the installation

directory will be displayed.

 Choose the desired installation directory and

click “Next >“.

The window showing further installation options will

be displayed.

 Select your desired options and click “Next >“.

All installation settings will be displayed.

 Click “Install“.

The program will now be installed. The installation

progress will be displayed.

When installation is complete, this will also be

displayed.

 Click “Finish >“. If the option “Launch

Audacity“ is selected, the program will start.

 Conﬁguration

NOTE: This action is required if you want to

use recording to MP3 format.

 Load the “lame_enc.dll“ ﬁle from the internet.

Click on “Download“.

 Move the ﬁle into the Audacity Installation

Directory.

 Start “Audacity” by double clicking on the

program symbol on your desktop, or select the

relevant item in your start menu.

 Select the menu item “Preferences“ in the “Edit“

menu.

 Select “Devices“.

 Change the following settings in the area

“Recording“:

– Channel: “2 (stereo)“

 Select the option “Listen to new tracks during

reproduction“ if you wish the record player to

play back during recording.

The option “USB Audio CODEC“ is only available

if you have correctly connected the record player

before you start the program.

 Select the tab “Libraries“.

 Click on “Locate...“.

An information window will be displayed.

 Click “Browse...“.

 Select the directory which contains the ﬁle

“lame_enc.dll“.

 Select the ﬁle and click “OK“.

 You can export ﬁles in MP3 format. If you click

on “DOWNLOAD” you will be directed to the

LAME download page. Follow the download

instructions and save the ﬁle anywhere on your

computer.

 Select the sample rate for the MP3 ﬁle.

 Select the ﬁle and click “OK“.

 Starting Audacity

 Start Audacity by double clicking on the

program symbol on your desktop, or select the

relevant item in your start menu.

 Setting the recording level

NOTE: It is not possible to set the recording

level in all operating systems.

 In the operating system mixer settings, set up

the recording level so that the level metre does

not exceed -6 dB.

 Recording with Audacity

 Start the program Audacity.

 Start record playback.

 Click on . Recording will start.

 To interrupt recording, click on .

 To restart recording, click on again.

 To stop recording, click on . The audio track

contains the recorded data.

 If you wish for sound to be transmitted via

your computer speaker at the same time as

recording, select “input signal“ in the menu

below the level metre.

 Select this menu item again to switch oﬀ

playback.

 Exporting records

You can save your recordings as 3 diﬀerent data

formats.

Export recording as single ﬁle

 Select one of the following items in the Menu

“Data“ to export the recording as the relevant

data format:

– “Export as WAV...“ (normal Audio),

– “Export as MP3...“ (compressed Audio),

– “Export as Ogg...“ (compressed and

lossless).

 Select the target directory and enter a data

name, then click “Save“. WAV and Ogg ﬁle

formats will be saved.

If you are exporting an MP3 ﬁle, the window “Edit

ID3-Tags (MP3)“ will be displayed. You can enter

information here that will be saved in the ID3 tag in

the MP3 ﬁle. You do not necessarily have to enter

anything.

 Click “OK“. The MP3 ﬁle will be saved.

Separate recording into individual ﬁles

 Activate the selection tool (refer to screenshot

Audacity

chapter, p. 15).

 Move the cursor within the audio track to the

beginning of the area that should be exported.

 Press the left mouse key and hold it pressed

down.

 With the left mouse key still pressed down,

move the cursor to the end of the area that is

to be exported (refer to screenshot in

Audacity

chapter, p. 15).

Then, release the mouse key. The area is now

marked.

 Select one of the following items in the Menu

“Data“ to export the recording as the relevant

data format:

– “Export selected as WAV...“

– “Export selected as MP3...“

– “Export selected as Ogg...“

 Select the target directory and enter a data

name, then click “Save“. WAV and Ogg ﬁle

formats will be saved.

If you are exporting an MP3 ﬁle, the window “Edit

ID3-Tags (MP3)“ will be displayed. You can enter

information here that will be saved in the ID3 tag in

the MP3 ﬁle. You do not necessarily have to enter

anything.

 Click “OK“. The MP3 ﬁle will be saved.

 Repeat these steps to export further parts of the

recording as individual ﬁles.

NOTE: The window to enter information for

the ID3 tag of MP3 ﬁles only appears for the

ﬁrst export. The data that you entered for the

ﬁrst export is used for all other parts.

 Listen to music in AUX Mode

 Plug the end of the AUX cable (3.5 mm jack

plug cable – not included in delivery) into the

AUX input jack

on the back of the record

player

. Plug the other into a compatible

device.

NOTES:

 The AUX input has priority over the record

player.

 The sound can only be controlled using the

connected device.

 Care and maintenance

 Removing an old pickup

needle

 Carefully place a screw driver on the edge of

the pickup needle

and press down.

 Remove the old pickup needle

by pulling it

carefully downwards and forwards.

 Inserting a new pickup needle

 Hold the pickup needle

by the forward

edge (needle side) and place the rear edge on

the tonearm

 Push the pickup needle

upwards until it

locks into place.

ATTENTION! Ensure that the product is

turned oﬀ before you replace the pickup

needle

. Do not snap the pickup needle

or touch the needle. Injuries may otherwise

occur.

 Cleaning the product

 Do not immerse the product in water or other

liquids.

 Avoid all contact between the product and

water or damp and wet conditions.

 Do not use any strong cleaning products, as

these will damage the product.

 Avoid contact with sharp objects, as these can

damage the product.

 Clean the product with a soft, dry and lint-free

cloth. If stains are persistent, a lightly moistened

cloth with a mild cleaning agent may be used.

Earthing requirements?

The connection of earth terminal (GND –

) of this unit is not

for safety grounding purposes.

If this terminal is connected when there is a

lot of noise, the noise can be reduced. Note

that depending on the turntable, connecting

the ground line may have the reverse eﬀect of

increasing noise. In this case, it is not necessary

to connect the ground line.

 Storage

 Unplug the power supply

if the product is

going to be out of use for a longer period of

time.

 Store the product in a dry environment.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the

date of purchase. Should this product show any

fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years

from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace

it – at our choice – free of charge to you.

The warranty period begins on the date of

purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt

in a safe location. This document is required as

your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes

void if the product has been damaged, or used or

maintained improperly.

The warranty applies to defects in material

 Εισαγωγή

Σας συγχαίρουμε για την αγορά του

νέου σας προϊόντος. Επιλέξατε ένα

προϊόν υψηλών προδιαγραφών. Οι

οδηγίες χρήσης είναι μέρος αυτού του προϊόντος.

Περιέχουν σημαντικές πληροφορίες σχετικά με την

ασφάλεια, το χειρισμό και την απόρριψη. Πριν τη

χρήση του προϊόντος εξοικειωθείτε με όλες τις

οδηγίες χρήσης και ασφαλείας. Χρησιμοποιείτε το

 Προβλεπόμενη χρήση

Αυτό το πικάπ είναι μια ηλεκτρονική συσκευή

ευρείας κατανάλωσης. Το προϊόν προορίζεται για

την αναπαραγωγή δίσκων βινυλίου/σέλακ και, όταν

συνδέεται σε υπολογιστή, για την εγγραφή και την

ψηφιοποίηση τέτοιων δίσκων.

Το προϊόν δεν προορίζεται μόνο για προσωπική

και όχι για επαγγελματική χρήση. Κάθε άλλη

χρήση θεωρείται ακατάλληλη. Τυχόν αξιώσεις

που ενδέχεται να προκύψουν από τη λανθασμένη

χρήση ή την εφαρμογή μη εγκεκριμένων
