For best performance, we recommend that you replace the batteries that came with this
toy with three, new “AAA” alkaline batteries.
How To Install Batteries:
Open the seam on the back of the toy. (Fig. 1)
Make sure the unit is turned OFF. (Fig. 2)
Carefully, pull the control box out of the toy to access the battery compartment. (Fig. 1)
NOTE: the battery compartment is permanently sewn into the product and cannot
be fully removed.
Locate the battery cover. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw. (Fig. 2)
Remove the battery compartment door and the exhausted batteries. (Fig. 2)

Install 3 new “AAA” batteries following the diagram inside the battery compartment.

Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screw to secure.
Fit the control box back into the toy and close the seam.
NOTE: When sounds or light become faint or stop, it is time for an adult to change
the batteries.

Getting Started:
NOTE: This product is shipped in “demo” mode. Open the seam on the back and slide
the MODE switch to ON for normal operation at home.
Open the seam on the back of the toy. (Fig. 1)
Carefully pull the control box out of the toy to access the control switches. (Fig. 1)
Slide the MODE switch to ON. (Fig. 2)
Adjust the VOLUME switch to LOW, MED or HI. (Fig. 2)
Adjust the TIMER switch to 15, 30 or 60 minutes. (Fig. 2)
NOTE: To preserve battery life, there is no continuous play mode. Sounds will
automatically turn off after selected minutes.
Carefully fit the control box back into the toy and close the seam.
Listening to the Sounds:
To turn the sounds on, press the POWER button on the foot of the puppy. (Fig. 4)
To toggle through the 8 built-in soothing sounds, press the MUSIC button on the
foot of the puppy. (Fig. 4)
Sounds will automatically turn off after selected TIMER minutes located on the control
box.
To manually turn the sounds off, press the POWER button on the foot of the puppy.
NOTE: When the unit is turned on, it will always default to the last sound used.
Using the Night Light:
To turn the night light on, press the belly on the puppy.
Night Light will automatically turn off after 5 minutes to preserve battery life.
To manually turn the night light off, press the belly on the puppy.
When you are finished playing with the toy, open the seam and slide the MODE switch
to OFF.
Using Attachment Straps:
WARNING: This product is not intended for use in crib. Do not leave infant unattended
with product.
Carefully open the seam on the back of the toy.
Pull attachment straps out and then close the seam.
Wrap straps around a sturdy object (ex. spindle, bar, pole, etc…) and secure
using tabs.
The unit should be snug against the sturdy object.
IMPORTANT: Please check the unit frequently to ensure it is still secure.
NOTE: Do not attach inside a crib. Do not attach to playpens or mesh walls.
The attachment straps are not intended for use as a toy. Please make sure the
attachment straps are out of reach from children. Replace straps inside toy when not
in use.

Care:
Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a clean, slightly damp cloth.
Do not immerse this product. Do not wash in automatic clothes washing machine. Do
not dry in automatic clothes dryer. Keep away from moisture and water.
Remove batteries from battery compartment if product will not be used for an
extended period of time.
Keep the device out of direct sunlight for extended periods of time and away from
any source of direct heat.
Do not drop toy onto hard surfaces.
Trouble Shooting:
If the unit stops working please check the following before calling Homedics
Consumer Relations for support.
Open the seam on the back and carefully pull the control box out to access the
controls.
Move the MODE switch to OFF.
Using a screwdriver, open the battery compartment door to access the batteries
Remove the batteries.
Wait 1 minute, and then replace the batteries. Ensure the batteries are inserted in the
correct polarity positions.
Move the MODE switch to ON. The product should now work correctly.
If the device still does not function, open the battery compartment and replace all
batteries with new batteries.

Battery Precautions:
1. Use AAA alkaline batteries only. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
2. Replace all batteries at the same time.
3. Clean the battery contacts and the contacts of the device prior to battery installation with a dry cloth.
4. Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ /–).
5. Remove batteries from the unit when it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
6. Remove depleted batteries from the unit promptly. Dispose of used batteries safely. Keep all batteries
away from children. Batteries are small objects and could be ingested. If swallowed, contact a
physician at once. Do not open batteries or dispose of in fire. Do not mix the new and used batteries.
7. Do not mix old and new batteries.
8. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc.) batteries.

HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture and
workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase, except as noted
below. HoMedics warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanship
under normal use and service. This warranty extends only to consumers and does not extend to
Retailers.
To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, contact a Consumer Relations
Representative by telephone at 1-800-466-3342 for assistance. Please make sure to have the
model number of the product available.
HoMedics does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, Retailers, the subsequent con-
sumer purchaser of the product from a Retailer or remote purchasers, to obligate HoMedics in any
way beyond the terms set forth herein. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or
abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to the product; improper
installation; unauthorized repairs or modifications; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an
operating part from failure to provide manufacturer’s recommended maintenance; transportation
damage; theft; neglect; vandalism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the
product is at a repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatso-
ever that are beyond the control of HoMedics.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which the
product is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adoption to enable it to operate in any
other country than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized,
or repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under this warranty.
THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY.

immediately cease and terminate as to any products or parts thereof which are repaired, replaced,
altered, or modified, without the prior express and written consent of HoMedics.
This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may have additional rights which may
