General Grill Cleaning
Do not mistake brown or black accumulation of grease and
smokefor paint. Interiors of gas grills are not painted at the
factory (and should never be painted). Apply a strong solution
of detergent andwater or usea grill cleaner with scrub brush
on insidesof grill lid and bottom. Rinseand allow to completely
air dry. Do not apply a caustic grill/oven cleaner to painted
surfaces.
PorceJainsurfaces: Because of glass-like composition, most
residue can be wiped away with baking soda/water solution or
specially formulated cleaner. Usenonabrasive scouring powder
for stubborn stains.
Paintedsurfaces: Wash with milddetergent or nonabrasive
cleaner and warm soapy water. Wipe dry with a soft
npnabrasive cloth.
Stainlesssteel surfaces:To maintain your grill's high quality
appearance, wash with mild detergent and warm soapy water
andwipe dry with a soft cloth after each use.Baked-on grease
deposits may require the useof an abrasive plastic cleaning
pad. Use only in direction of brushed finishto avoid damage.
Do not useabrasive pad on areas with graphics.

CAUTION
SPIDER ALERT!
IMPORTANT: Always ensurethat the venturi burner tubes
are clean. A venturi burner tube hasa narrow area in
which spiders tend to build nests.
Ifyou notice thatyour grill isgetting hard to light or that the
flame isn't asstrong asit should be, take the time to check and
clean the venturi's.
M
Spiders or small insects have been known to create "flashback"
problems. The spiders spin webs, build nestsand lay eggs in the grill's
venturi tube(s) obstructing the flow of gas to the burner. The
backed-up gas can ignite in the venturi behind the control panel. This
isknown as a flashback and it can damage your grill and even cause
injury.
To prevent flashbacks and ensure good performance the burner and
venturi assembly should be removed from the grill and cleaned
'before usewhenever the grill has been idle for an extended period.
Storing Your Grill
Clean cooking grates.
Store in dry location.
When LPcylinder isconnected to grill, store outdoors in a
well-ventilated space and out of reach of children.
Cover grill if stored outdoors. Choose from avariety of grill
covers offered by manufacturer once available.
Store grill indoors ONLY if LPcylinder isturned off and
Disconnected, remove from grill and stored outdoors.
When removing grill from storage, follow "Cleaning the Burner
Assembly' instructionsbefore starting grill.
Cleaning the Burner Assembly
Follow these instructionsto clean and/or replace parts of burner
assembly or if you have trouble igniting grill.
1. Turngas off at control knobsand LPcylinder.
2. Removecooking grates and heat diffusers.
3. Removecotter pin from rear of burners.
4. Carefully lift each burner up and away from valve openings.
We _uggestthree ways to clean the burner tubes. Usethe one
easiestfor you.
(A) Benda stiff wire (a light weight coat hanger works well)
into a small hook. Runthe hook through each burner
tube several times.
(B) Usea narrow bottle brushwith a flexible handle (do not use
a brasswire brush), runthe brushthrough each burner tube
several times.
(C) Wear eye protection: Use an air hoseto force air into
the burner tube and out the burner ports. Check each
port to make sureair comes out each hole.
5. Wire brushentire outer surface of burner to remove
food residue and dirt.
6. Clean any blocked ports with a stiffwire suchasan
open paper clip.
7. Check burner for damage, due to normal wear and
corrosion some holes may become enlarged. Ifany large
cracks or holes are found replace burner.
VERYIMPORTANT: Burnertubes mustreengage valve
openings.See illustrations below.
8. Carefully replace burners.
9. Attach burners to brackets with cotter pin.
10. Replace heat diffusers and cooking grates.

Indirect Cooking
Poultry and large cutsof meat cook slowly to perfection onthe grill
by indirect heat. Place food over unlit burner(s);the heatfrom lit
burners circulates gently throughout the grill, cooking meat or
poultry without the touch of adirect flame. This method greatly
reduces flare-ups when cooking extra fatty cuts because there isno
direct flame to ignite the fats and juices that drip during cooking.
1 Burner Cooking
Cook with direct or indirect heat.
Bestfor smaller mealsor foods.
Consumeslessfuel.
Indirect Cooking Instructions
Always cook with the lid closed.
Due to weather conditions, cooking times may vary. During
cold andwindy conditions the temperature setting may
need to be increased to insuresufficient cooking
temperature.
Place food over over unlit burner(s).
2 Burner Cooking
Great indirect cooking on low.
ProducessJow,even heating.
Ideal for slow roastingand baking.
Food Safety
Food safety isa very important part of enjoying the outdoor
cooking experience. To keep food safe from harmful bacteria,
follow thesefour basic steps:
Clean: Wash hands, utensils, and surfaces with hot soapy water
before and after handling raw meat and poultry.
Separate: Separate raw meats and poultry from ready-to-eat
foods to avoid cross contamination. Use a clean platter and
utensilswhen removing cooked foods.
Cook: Cook meat and poultry thoroughly to killbacteria. Use a
thermometer to ensureproper internal food temperatures.
Chill: Refrigerate prepared foods and leftovers promptly. For
more information call: USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at
1-800-535-4555 (InWashington, DC (202) 720-3333, 10:00 am
4:00 pm EST).
How To Tell If Meat Is Grilled Thoroughly
Meat and poultry cooked on a grill often browns very fast
on the outside. Usea meat thermometer to be surefood has
reached a safe internal temperature, and cut into food to
check for visual signsof doneness.
Whole poultry should reach 180° F; breasts, 170° F.Juices
should runclear and flesh shouldnot be pink.
Hamburgers made of any ground meat or poultry should
reach 160° F,and be brown inthe middle with no pinkjuices
Beef, veal and lamb steaks, roasts and chops can be
cooked to 145° F.All cutsof pork should reach 160° F.
NEVERpartially grill meat or poultry and finishcooking
later. Cook food completely to destroy harmful bacteria.
When reheating takeout foods or fully cooked meats like
hot dogs, grill to 165° F,or until steaming hot.
WARNING: To ensurethat it is safe to eat, food mustbe cooked
to the minimuminternal temperatures listed in the table below.
