First use
∙ Unpack the unit completely and remove
all packing materials.
∙ Allow the appliance, with each set of
plates in succession, to heat up for about
10 minutes with the two halves closed.
This will remove the smell typically
encountered when fi rst switching on
any sandwich toaster. Ensure suffi cient
ventilation.
∙ Clean the appliance and the plates
afterwards as described in Cleaning and
care.
Changing the cooking plates
∙ Always allow suffi cient time for the unit to
cool down before any plates are changed.
∙ To change the plates, unlatch the handle
and open the appliance.
∙ Slide the plate release buttons towards
the handle remove the plate in the same
direction.
∙ Insert the plates desired, ensuring that the
protruding studs on the plate are safely
engaged in the corresponding recesses
on the appliance. Push the plates down
until they are heard locking into place.
∙ Before the appliance is switched on,
ensure that the new plates have been
correctly inserted and are safely locked.
Operation
∙ Fit the cooking plates required to the
appliance and close it.
∙ Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet.
The red main indicator light comes on.
∙ Once the operating temperature has been
reached, the green indicator light comes
on and shows the appliance is ready for
use.
∙ Open the appliance.
∙ Place the prepared food or sandwiches
onto the lower housing element and close
the upper housing element.
∙ The locking latch is used only when
making sandwiches. Use the handle to
press down on the upper housing element
and engage the locking latch.
∙ We recommend the following cooking
times:
∙ approx. 2-4 minutes for sandwiches,
∙ approx. 4-5 minutes for wafers.
Note: Depending on the recipe, and the
texture and temperature of the dough,
the cooking times for waffl es may vary.
∙ For grilling, the cooking times largely
depend on the food type.
∙ Open the appliance and take out the food.
In order to prevent the non-stick cooking
plates from being damaged, do not use
sharp or pointed objects while placing or
removing food.
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket after use and allow the appliance
to cool down before cleaning.
Cleaning and care
∙ Before cleaning, remove the plug from the
wall socket and wait until the appliance
has cooled down with the cooking plates
open.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the appliance with water and do not
immerse it in water.
∙ Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
∙ The exterior surfaces of the appliance
may be cleaned with a damp, lint-free
cloth.
∙ For easy cleaning, the non-stick coated
plates can be removed and cleaned using
hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure
