TYPE3-WIRECORD.Thelongercordshouldbearrangedsothatitwillnotdrapeoverthecounter-toportabletop

- Yourproductisequippedwithapolarizedalternatingcurrentlineplug(aplughavingonebladewiderthanthe

other).Thisplugwilltintothepoweroutletonlyoneway.Thisisasafetyfeature.Ifyouareunabletoinsertthe

plugfullyintotheoutlet,tryreversingtheplug.Iftheplugshouldstillfailtot,contactyourelectriciantoreplace

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

1 Washtheparts:see‘careandcleaning’.

2 Run two full tanks of water (without coee) through

thecoeemakertocleanitout.See‘Howtomakedrip

coee”.

HOW TO MAKE DRIP COFFEE

1 Liftupthewatertanklid.

2 Fillthetankwiththedesiredamountofwater.Thewater

levelmustbebetweenthe2and10cupmarks.Donotll

abovetheMAXlevel.

Use cold water. We recommend using ltered water as

it reduces limescale and prolongs the life of your coee

maker. Never use warm or carbonated water.

3 Liftthelterholderlidusingthehandleatthefrontof

thecoeemaker. Ensurethe lterholder ispositioned

correctly.

4 Fiteitherthepermanentltersuppliedorapaperlter

into the lter holder. Add the coee using the spoon

supplied.(Note:Thestrengthofyourbrewedcoeewill

dependonthevarietyandstrengthof coeeusednot

theamount.Forbestbrewing1levelspoonofcoeeis

recommendedpercup).

5 Closethelidandputthecarafeonthehotplate.NOTE:

Thelidmustbettedtothecarafeinordertooperatethe

anti-dripvalve.

6 Pluginandswitchon.

7 Don’tremovethecarafeuntilbrewinghasnished.When

thecarafeisempty,switchoandunplugtheappliance.

The hot plate will keep your coee hot, but the sooner you

drink it, the better it will taste.

Your coee maker will keep the coee warm and then

automatically switch o after 2 hours.

If you have not used the appliance for a while, run one full

tank of water (without coee) through to clean it out.

TIPS

The Water~Yourcoeeisaround98-99%watersoit’simpor-

tanttoensureyouusefreshlteredwater.Werecom-

mend using ltered water as it will reduce limescale and

prolongtheuseofyourcoeemaker.

he Coee~Thismachinewilloptimizetheavorofmedium

groundcoee,todeliverfullbody,aromaandtaste.Be

surebeforeyoubuythatthecoeeissuitableforalter

machine.Orifyougrindyourownbeanssetthegrinderto

mediumcoarseness.Iftheparticlesaretoosmall,water

willpassthroughtheltertooslowlyresultingin‘over-

extraction’;yourcoeewilltastebitter.Ifparticlesaretoo

large, water will pass through too quickly resulting in ‘un-

der-extraction’;yourcoeewilltasteweakandwatery.

The Measurements ~To brew a perfectly balanced cup we

recommendtouse1measuringspoonofgroundcoee

percup.Usethemeasuringspoonprovidedtodothisac-

curately.Coeewilltastebetterwhenfreshsowerecom-

menddrinkingwithin30minutesofbrewing,anylonger

andtastebeginstodeteriorate.

The Maintenance~Usepaperltersorapermanentlterei-

thertypeissuitabletoproducegreatcoee.Werecom-

mend that you rinse your permanent lter with water

after every use as any residual detergent could taint your

coee.Dispose of the used groundsimmediately after

usetopreventdripthroughofunwantedavorstrapped

intheusedcoeegrounds.Trytokeepyourcoeema-

chine clean, especially the shower head as this will help

toprolongyourmachineandmaintainperfectbrewing.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out any cleaning operations, switch the appliance

o,unplugitfromthepoweroutlet,andletitcooldown.

• Donotusesolventsorabrasivedetergentstocleanthe

appliance.Asoftdampclothissucient.

• Neverimmersethecoeemakerinwater:itisanelectrical

appliance.

• Don’twashpartsinthedishwasher.

• Wipewithadampcloth,thendry.Don’tuseabrasives-

they’llscratchtheplasticandmetalsurfaces.

Mesh lter

• Themeshlterhinthetankcanbeliftedoutforcleaning

ifrequired.Alwaysensureitisreplacedbeforellingthe

tankwithwater.

To descale

Ifthewaterinyourareaishard,limescaledepositsmaybuild

upovertime.Thesedepositsmayaectthecorrectoperation

oftheappliance.Itisrecommendedtodescaletheappliance

after60uses.

1 Buyasuitabledescaler.Followtheinstructionsprovided

withtheproduct.

2 Descalethemachine.

3 After descaling, run at least two full tanks of water

(without coee) through the coee maker to clean it

out.

4 Washtheparts.

Troubleshooting

Limited warranty

This warranty applies to all products with De’Longhi or Kenwood brand names.

What does the warranty cover?

Wewarranteachappliancetobefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanship.Ourobligationunderthiswarrantyislimitedtore-

pairatourfactoryorauthorizedservicecenterofanydefectivepartsorpartthereof,otherthanpartsdamagedintransit.Intheevent

ofaproductsreplacementorreturn,theunitmustbereturnedtransportationprepaid.Therepairedornewmodelwillbereturned

atthecompanyexpense.

Thiswarrantyshallapplyonlyiftheapplianceisusedinaccordancewiththefactorydirections,whichaccompanyit,andonan

Alternatingcurrent(AC)circuit.

How long does the coverage last?

Thiswarrantyrunsforoneyear(1)fromthepurchasedatefoundonyourreceiptandappliesonlytotheoriginalpurchaserforuse.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Thewarrantydoesnotcoverdefectsordamageoftheappliance,whichresultfromrepairsoralterationstotheapplianceoutside

ourfactoryorauthorizedservicecenters,norshallitapplytoanyappliance,whichhasbeensubjecttoabuse,misuse,negligenceor

accidents.Also,consequentialandincidentaldamageresultingfromtheuseofthisproductorarisingoutofanybreachofcontractor

breachofthiswarrantyarenotrecoverableunderthiswarranty.Somestatesdonotallowtheexclusionorlimitationofincidentalor
