C GENERAL
28 When you lift the kettle, you may see moisture on the stand. Don’t worry – it’s the steam
used to switch off automatically, which then condenses and escapes via vents under the
kettle.
29 You may see some discolouration on the floor of the kettle. Again, don’t worry – it’s due to
the bonding of the element to the kettle floor.
b Use the °F°C button to swap between Fahrenheit and Centigrade on the display.
F USING WITH INSUFFICIENT WATER
30 This will shorten the life of the element. A boil-dry cut-out will switch the kettle off.
31 You must then remove the kettle from its stand to reset the cut-out.
32 Sit the kettle on the work surface till it’s cold.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
33 Unplug the stand, and let the kettle cool before cleaning.
34 Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
35 Open the lid.
36 Push the hook on top of the filter down, then lift the filter out of the kettle.
37 Rinse the filter under a running tap while brushing with a soft brush.
38 Lower the filter into the kettle, and engage the bottom hook in the bottom of the spout.
39 Press the top of the filter towards the kettle, to lock the hook in place.
Descale regularly, (at least monthly).
40 Descale the appliance at least monthly with a proprietary descaler. Follow the instructions on
the package of descaler.
, Products returned under guarantee with faults due to scale will be subject to a repair charge.
z THE SUPPRESSOR
41 The suppressor is designed to reduce the noise made by the boiling water.
42 Scale will prevent it from working, and the kettle will become noisier.
