7. Connection to the tractor
Before starting the machine and the tractor, check road and
operating safety!
Persons must never be allowed to stand between the tractor and
the attachment unit without having secured the vehicle against
rolling away by means of the locking brake and / or wheel
chocks!
Before attaching and removing the unit on the three-point
suspension, place the operating device in the position in which
unintentional lifting and lowering are excluded!
Never stay in the rotating and pivoting area of the unit!
Adjust the working position (inclination) of the machine using the
compression link (Fig. 1). In working direction, the machine
should be tilted forward by about 2-3 cm!
In the transport position of the unit, sufficient lateral locking of the
tractor three-point suspension has to be ensured in order to
avoid lateral swing-out of the machine!

8. Connecting the universal joint shaft
When the unit has been coupled to the tractor, check the exact
length of the universal joint shaft.
Very important
: Highest possible overlapping has to be aimed at.
During operation, the maximum extension of the joint shaft
should be half the sliding profile overlapping (Fig. 2). When
connecting to different tractors the length has to be checked
again!
Press sliding pin and push the joint shaft onto the power takeoff
shaft until the sliding pin engages! (Fig. 3)

Attention!
Only use joint shaft types prescribed by the manufacturer!
(standard equipment includes shear pins Fig. 4)
This tractor symbol indicates the tractor side of the joint shaft.
Always attach the overload protection on machine side!
Lubricate the universal joint shaft before starting up, see
lubrication plan! (Fig. 5)
Attach the holding chain so that a sufficient pivoting area of the
universal joint shaft is guaranteed in all operating positions.
Never use the holding chain to suspend the universal joint shaft!
For your own safety, replace the safety devices if they are
damaged or worn. When the machine is not in use, the universal
joint shaft can be hung in the bracket provided for protection!
Make sure that when you mount the universal joint shaft on the
machine, the unit protective cover overlaps the joint shaft
protection in all operating positions!

9. Adjustment / brush selection
Using the full working width:
When using the full working width of the machine, the support
wheels will be completely turned upwards. The machine will then rest
completely on the brushes (Fig. 6). If required, it is possible to mount
weights in order to increase the brush pressure on the paved
surface.
Make sure machine has inclined position in the direction of travel!
(Fig. 1)
Position the unit slightly inclined with the supporting wheels when
working on kerbstone edges. (Fig. 7)
Machine in inclined position
Supporting wheel is free, machine rests only on brushes in the
kerbstone edge area.

Brush selection
For working in full working width,
braided brushes (Fig. 8) have to
be mounted.
For working exclusively on
kerbstone edges, we recommend
using the kerbstone holder (Fig. 9,
special equipment) especially
designed for this purpose.
To attach the special kerbstone
holder, first remove the right or left
outer brush holder and replace it
with the special kerbstone holder.
In this case, the adjacent brush
holder must be removed as well!

10. Maintenance
Steps to be carried out in order to maintain the machine in good
working condition:
Check the correct connection of the universal joint shaft and the
safety devices.
Lubricate the universal joint shaft (see Fig. 5) before start-up and
every 8 operating hours with proprietary grease and check the
smooth run of the sliding profiles. In winter, the protective tubes
have to be greased additionally in order to avoid freezing.
Check the level of liquid grease in the gear casing via the
corresponding plug (Fig. 10). This operation must be carried out
with the machine in horizontal position and after the machine has
already been running for a few minutes, thus warming the grease
and distributing it evenly. Then check the grease level with a
dipstick (grease level should be 2.5 cm). If necessary, top up
lubricating grease.
