MMP8585 Firmware Upgrade Procedure
1. Download the MMP8585.exe self extracting file to your desktop. Double click on MMP8585.exe to
extract the install files to c:\mmp8585 on your computer.
2. Open the ‘c:\mmp8585’ folder you created and double click on “setup.exe” to start installing the firmware
upgrade program on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the software installation.
Note: If the installation cannot be started, uninstall the MMP8585 Video Converter Software and try again.
3. When the software setup is finished, click “Start”, select “All Programs”, “MP3 Player Utilities 5.10” and
click on “MP3 Player Upgrade Tool”.
4. Format the MMP8585 unit either using your computer or the ‘Format’ option in the ‘Settings’ menu on
the player. Connect the MMP8585 unit to the computer. When “OK to Remove” appears on the
MMP8585’s display, press the hold the Play/Pause button for 3 seconds on the MMP8585 to change the
device from MTP mode to MSC mode.
5. Click on “Select new firmware file”, and then select the file “mp63ua03_v82.fwu” from inside the
“MMP8585 Firmware upgrade software” folder.
6. When finished, click on “Close” under “MP3 Player Product Tool” and the firmware upgrade is done.
