• Place the cordless base on a dry level surface.
• Place the kettle on the base. The kettle must only be used with the
matching base supplied.
• Before operating the kettle, make sure that the kettle is filled at least to
the Minimum mark.
• Make sure the kettle is in the “OFF” position (switch up) and connect the
power supply cord to a power outlet of the same voltage and frequency
as detailed on the rating label.
• To start heating, push the switch to the “ON” position (switch down). The
power indicator light will glow.
• When the water has boiled, the kettle will automatically switch to “OFF”
position. If needed, the water may be brought back to the boil by
pressing the switch back to “ON”.
• The kettle may be switched “OFF” at any time by pressing the switch on
the handle to the “OFF” position.
• Make it a habit of unplugging the power cord from the power source
before removing the kettle on the base or if you plan to leave the kettle
unattended.
• Do not use hot tap water to fill the kettle. Use only cold water. Allow the
cold water to run for three to four seconds before filling the kettle.
• Remove plastic odor from the kettle, if any, by filling the kettle to
maximum and adding a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to the water.
Boil and discard the water then rinse out with cold water.
AUTOMATIC POWER SAFETY CUT-OFF
The electric kettle comes with an automatic power cut-off function as
protection against boil-dry overheating. Power will be automatically cut off if
the kettle contains insufficient water.
Should this occur, switch off and unplug the power cord from the power
outlet. Allow the kettle to cool for 10 minutes then refill with cold water to a
sufficient level and reconnect to power supply.
