1 General
1.1 Definitions
Operator
Person who provides the devices described here to users on a commercial
basis. The operator is responsible for the correct operation of the device as
well as compliance with the maintenance intervals.
User
A person who uses the device at a commercial location.
Staff
People who are responsible for the operation, cleaning as well as general
maintenance work and who instruct the users in the operation of the devices.
Electrician
A person with suitable professional training, knowledge and experience which
enables them to identify and avoid the dangers which can arise from working
with electricity.
Authorized, trained and qualified staff
Qualified staff from an external company who have been trained and author-
ized by the manufacturer for assembly and maintenance work with specific
devices.

2.1 Description of warning signs
Danger notices, damage to persons:
DANGER!
Type and source of danger, e.g. 'DANGER – High volt-
age!'
Description of the consequences, e.g. 'You can be killed or
injured by an electric shock!'
Countermeasures:
Disconnect device from power supply before opening.
Do not reach into the inside with the device switched
on.
Warning notices, damage to persons:
WARNING!
Type and source of danger, e.g. 'WARNING – hot sur-
face!'
Description of the consequences, e.g. 'You can burn your
hand (skin, face)!'
Countermeasures:
Do not touch hot parts and nearby surfaces.
Wait until hot parts and surfaces have cooled down.
Caution notices, damage to property:
CAUTION!
The word 'Caution' with this label points out that danger for
devices, materials and the environment can be expected
here.
Important information:
NOTE:
This symbol does not identify safety notices, but states in-
formation for a better understanding of the processes.

2.2 Instructions pertaining to a risk of fire,
electric shock, or injury
2.2.1 Beauty device
DANGER – HIGH VOLTAGE!
You can be killed or injured by an electric shock!
Assembly and electrical connection must comply with na-
tional and local regulations.
The device may only be assembled, installed, upgraded
or repaired by specially trained and instructed person-
nel.
WARNING!
Danger of long-term consequences!
The following people are not allowed to use the equipment:
Pregnant women
People younger than 18
People with epilepsy
People with illnesses which cause light sensitivity
People who take medication or herbal remedies which
cause light sensitivity (e.g. antibiotics, antirheumatic
agents, antifungal agents or St. Johns wort)
WARNING!
Delayed Healing!
A light treatment is not recommended in the following cir-
cumstances:
If you have utilized an oxygen facial pack in the last
24 hours,
If your facial skin has been electronically tightened in
the last 24 hours,
If your skin has been treated with chemical peel or
abrasives,
If you have received a facial injection in the last
24 hours.

WARNING!
Infections can be transferred through skin contact!
All items/equipment components, with which the user can
come into contact during the application, must be disinfected
after every application:
Protective goggles
Acrylic panels
Holding bars and control panel
MP3 cable
Floor mat (Plastic)
Use only approved cleaners to disinfect the device and
its components.
NOTE:
Extending the specified application times cannot place ex-
cessive demands on the skin due to the emitted light. How-
ever we recommend a 24 hour break after a 12 minute treat-
ment.
NOTE:
A light application is not damaging to the eyes. However, we
recommend wearing eye protection during the application in
order to protect the eyes against the bright light.
2.2.2 VibraShape (Vibration plate)
WARNING!
Risk of damage to health!
Vibrations can lead to or intensify health problems. You
should never use the vibration plate when you are affected
by one of the following health restrictions:
Pregnancy
DVT (Deep Veneous Thrombosis)
New wounds resulting from an operation or a surgical
intervention
Epilepsy
Acute diseases / inflammation process
Pacemaker
Retinal detachment
Acute osteoporosis

WARNING!
Risk of damage to health!
Vibrations can lead to or intensify health problems. You
should only use the vibration plate after consulting your
doctor when you suffer from one of the following health
restrictions:
Cardiovascular diseases
Hip and knee implants
Severe diabetes
Severe cases of migranes
Tumors
Gallstones or kindney stones
Acute thrombosis
Acute inflammation of the musculosketal system
New fractures in trained body regions
New infections
Acute hernia / intervertebral disc diseases / spondyloly-
sis
When intrauterine devices, spirals, metal pins, screws
or plates have been inserted recently
Rheumatoid arthritis
Active atrosis and athropathy (joint diseases)
People with recently implanted intrauterine devices (contra-
ceptive coils), metal pins, screws or plates are also only to
use the device after consultation with their doctor.
Side effects
The use of the vibration plate may lead to the following side effects:
y Itching in regions of the body being trained
y Nausea and vertigo
y Rapid and brief fall in blood pressure
y Rapid hypoglycemia with diabetes
Diabetics should always have dextrose with them! The side effects of nausea,
vertigo, fall in blood pressure and itching and are generally harmless. Older
users should be especially informed of the possible occurrence of vertigo and
fall in blood pressure. People that have skin injuries, such as blisters or
wounds on the soles of their feet are not allowed to use the vibration plate.

2.3 Instructions pertaining to a risk of
damage to the machine
CAUTION!
Danger of overheating by obstruction of the air routing!
Do not change, obstruct or block the air inflow and
outflow area to the device or make any unauthorized
changes to the device. The manufacturer shall bear no
liability for damage or injuries resulting from such ac-
tions.

3 Information for the studio operator
3.1 Intended use
Beauty device
This device is intended to temporarily firm and tone the appearance of the
muscles and the body.
The device may only be used by one person at a time.
VibraShape function
The vibration plate can be used additionally during the light application. The
vibration plate is used for muscle stimulation of healthy people.
The vibration plate is not intended for medical applications!
Any other use shall be considered improper. The manufacturer cannot be
held liable for damage or injuries resulting from misuse. The operator bears
the sole risk for this.
The proper use also includes compliance with the manufacturer's instructions,
operating and maintenance conditions. This device may only be operated,
maintained and repaired by persons familiar with these tasks and who are
aware of the dangers involved.
3.2 Foreseeable misuse
The following uses of the device are explicitly prohibited:
y Multiple people may not use the device at the same time.
y People with body weight of more than 330 lb may not use the device.
y Extending the specified application times cannot place excessive de-
mands on the skin due to the emitted light. However we recommend a
24 hour break after a 12 minute treatment.
y When the device is in use no other people may remain in the room. This
includes both children and adults.
3.3 Obligations of the studio operator
y As the operator you are responsible for informing users on possible risks
of light applications.
y All danger and safety labels attached to the device must be observed! Do
not remove them!
y No safety equipment (e.g. panel switch) may be removed, deactivated, or
otherwise bypassed as it can impair the safe operation of the device!
y The device may only be used when in completely operational condition!
y It is the operator's responsibility to ensure the device is handled properly.

3.4 Staff training
As the operator you are obligated to train your personnel and instruct them in
the established legal and accident prevention regulations. Ensure that your
staff have understood and observe these instructions. This includes:
y information regarding intended use and foreseeable misuse
y safety instructions
y operating instructions
y cleaning and maintenance instructions
Please make the instructions and additional information from the manu-
facturer available to the staff at their workplace.
Regularly check your staff's safety consciousness and awareness of the
risks, taking into account your operating instructions.
Please ensure that the cleaning intervals are complied with, in particular
cleaning after every use.
Please ensure that your staff provide your customers with appropriate
advice, in particular regarding application times, possible risks and the
operation of the device.
3.5 Installation location
3.5.1 Ventilation
CAUTION!
Danger of failure!
Danger of overheating by obstruction of the air routing.
Observe the ventilation information in the Planning
Manual to avoid serious system malfunctions.
Data for air supply and extraction planning can be found in the Planning Man-
ual (Order no. 801482-.., http://support.jkamerica.com). You can also ask for
this data from your sales agent or customer service (see Page 2).
3.6 Export
This device is exclusively intended for use in the USA and Canada and may
not be exported to other countries and operated there! The manufacturer
assumes no liability whatsoever in the event of non-compliance. High liability
risks may occur for the exporter and/or the operator in the event of noncom-
pliance.

3.7 MP3 music
The personal use of an MP3 player during the application is not a public
broadcast in copyright terms, so that there is no obligation for registration or
payment by the studio owner to the corresponding copyright owning com-
pany. Copyright laws apply to the owner of the MP3 player.
The same regulations apply for the official use of MP3 music files as for other
music sources: As studio owner you are only allowed to use original audio
obtained from legal sources. Proof of the legitimacy of any MP3 audio used
should be available for viewing upon demand of any regulatory body. Please
refer to http://www.riaa.com for more information.
3.8 Disposal
3.8.1 Environmental regulations –
disposal of lamps
Beauty Light lamps contain fluorescent materials and other waste containing
mercury.
According to the national waste disposal laws and in accordance with the
municipal waste regulations, proof must be provided of the proper disposal of
lamps.
Contact your local environmental agency for assistance with the disposal of
lamps.
3.9 Instruction signs on the device
See Appendix page 44.
3.10 Technical modifications
The device has been constructed in accordance with current safety regula-
tions. The illustrations and specifications on these instructions are subject to
technical modifications which are required in order to improve the device.
Unauthorized modifications and changes to the device and its control unit are
prohibited.
Use only OEM spare parts.

into account which must be observed during operation and/or when perform-

4.5 VibraShape
You may choose from four (4) different programs, each offering varying levels
of targeted muscle stimulation, exercise and massage intensity. The body
immediately responds to the patented, pre-programmed movement of the
platform. Muscles automatically flex and relax as the VibraShape technology
stimulates muscle activity.
Users can combine the light treatment and the vibration program as desired.
NOTE:
Voice Guide technology walks the customer through the
available options and informs the user of changes in inten-
sity throughout the session.

10 Minutes Wellness (low intensity): Loosens and relaxes mus-
cles, improves flexibility, and enhances well-being
with gentle movements at low vibration frequency.
10 Minutes New You: For beginners and ideal for those starting a
fitness regimen. Utilizes medium frequency vibration
and massage therapy technology. Improves muscle
tone gradually with controlled, alternating movements.
10 Minutes Cross-Training: Intense vibration therapy uses high
frequency interval training. A balanced program that
strengthens muscles with powerful movements. Im-
proves muscle tone with controlled, alternating
movements.
10 Minutes Multi-Level: Mixed frequency cycles target muscle
groups in the legs, buttocks and abdomen to help
temporarily improve skin’s appearance as it tones and
tightens muscles.

5 Operation
5.1 Mandatory reading
Always read and follow all instructions for proper usage prior to allowing any-
one to use the device. The operating instructions included with this device
must always be followed to prevent possible injuries.
Inform users
to use provided protective eyewear whenever the equipment is ener-
gized.

WARNING!
Danger of skin injuries!
The device must never be used when the timer is de-
fective!
NOTE:
When describing the operation, the device is sometimes
shown with the doors open. During the application the doors
must always be closed.
Proper operation is not possible with the doors open.

5.2 Application tips
Behavior before, during and after a light application:
y No other persons are permitted in the vicinity of the cabin when using the
device, this especially applies to children.
y Remove all jewelry (including piercings) prior to the application.
y Remove cosmetics before using the device and do not use sun screen
products.
y A light application is not damaging to the eyes. However, we neverthe-
less recommend wearing eye protection during the application in order to
protect the eyes against the bright light.
y Always comply with the recommended application times.

Stand up straight during the application and in the center of the device.
CAUTION!
Holding bars break when exposed to severe strain!
The holding bars can be broken off if they are exposed to
severe strain.
Do not attempt pull-ups or other exercises.

WARNING!
Risk of injury!
The vibration function is not suitable for all users.
Please observe the contraindications on page 8.
NOTE:
Each program starts with a warm-up phase and ends with a
cooling-down phase. A vibration program normally lasts for
10 minutes. The vibration program will terminate with light
application if an application time of less than 10 minutes has
been entered.
Place your feet on the footmarks (1).
Do not press your knees together (2).
You can hold onto the handles to make you feel safer if you want (3).
Select Program 1 as the first application in order to test the program and
ensure you have no adverse reactions (4).
Press the START/STOP button (5) to stop the vibration plate if you think
that it is causing discomfort or vertigo.
