Features
• Mercury lled
• Temperature range: -40°C to 50°C (-40°F to 122°F)
• Dimensions: 22.8 cm (9”)
A Max/Min thermometer records highest and lowest temperatures. A
“U” shaped tube holds mercury. As the temperature increases, the liquid
expands, forcing the mercury up the maximum scale. When the tem-
perature falls, the liquid contracts, and the mercury follows it back up the
minimum scale. Two blue markers record changes in temperature.
Instructions
The markers are held in position by a magnet in the back of the case.
The Max/Min temperatures are read at the bottom point of the markers.
The current temperature can be read at the top of each mercury column.
Note: The minimum scale is inverted with the lower temperatures above
the high ones. Press the center button to reset the Max/Min readings.
Bubbles in the capillary will disappear if the thermometer is put on a
heater.
Should the mercury column separate, the thermometer must be shaken
to unite the mercury. If one of the blue Max/Min markers disappear, press
the button during the shaking process, and it will appear again.
Do not mount or place the thermometer in direct sunlight.
Warning: This product contains mercury and should be disposed of
properly in accordance with applicable federal and provincial laws.
