1.0 Engine safety instructions
1. Read owner’s manual carefully and follow all directions. Be
thoroughly familiar with the controls and the proper use of the
equipment. Know how to disengage the controls and stop the engine .
2. Check fuel before starting the engine. Never fill fuel tank when engine
is running or hot. Fill fuel tank outdoors. Replace gasoline cap tightly
and wipe off and spilled gasoline before starting the engine.
3. Dress properly. Wear safety glasses or goggles. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewelry that could get caught in moving parts. Pants,
gloves and safety footwear are recommended.
4. Keep operation area clear of all persons, particularly children and
pets.
5. Never operate on wet grass. Keep both hands firmly on the handles
when blade is rotating, and walk, never run. Keep feet away from
cutting area. Watch what you are doing and use common sense.
6. Do not attempt to remove cut material when engine is running or
when cutting member is moving. Shut engine off, wait until blade
comes to a complete stop and disconnect the spark plug wire before
clearing material that may clog blade guard or cutting member. Never
hold any material to be cut.
7. Have repairs made by a qualified dealer or repairman. Use accessories
and attachment supplied or recommended by the manufacturer. See
that only identical replacement parts are used
2.0 OPERATIONG SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Warning
The engine exhaust from this product contains chemicals to cause
cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

1.0 Start the engine carefully. Make certain all attachments are
disengaged before starting the engine. Keep hands, feet and
clothing away from blade and other moving parts.
2.0 Never attempt to make any adjustments while engine is running.
3.0 Do not operate when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Always
wear safety footwear and pants that cover your legs.
4.0 Stay alert for uneven sidewalks, hole in the terrain, and other hidden
hazards. Always push slowly over rough ground
5.0 Thoroughly inspect area to be edged or trimmed. Remove any
foreign objects which might be picked up and thrown.
6.0 Do not use machine on graveled surfaces. Stop the equipment when
crossing gravel drive, walkways or roads. Watch out for traffic
when working near roadways.
7.0 Never run the engine indoors. Exhaust fumes are dangerous.
8.0 Edge or trim only in daylight. Do not operate without good
visibility or light .
9.0 Objects struck by the cutting member can cause injury. After
striking a foreign object, stop the machine, disconnect the spark
plug wire, inspect for damage and repair any damage before starting
engine.
10.0 Stop the engine whenever you leave the machine unattended and
when making repairs or inspections.
11.0 When cleaning, repairing or inspecting, always make sure blade and
all moving parts are stopped. Cutting member is stopped gradually
after turnoff. Disconnect spark plug wire and keep the wire away
from the plug to avoid unintentional starting.
12.0 Never operate without guards, plates and other protective devices in
place.
13.0 Do not change governor settings or over-speed the engine.
14.0 If the edger should start to vibrate abnormally, stop the engine and
check for the cause. Vibration is generally a warning for trouble.
15.0 Reduce speed on slopes and sharp corners to avoid loss of control or
tipping of machine.
16.0 Do not operate if the cutting member is damaged or excessively
worn.
3.0 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.0 A: Before starting the engine, read engine instruction manual. Be
sure to fill the crankcase with

recommended oil SAE-15W-40. When starting the engine, move the
blade control lever (Fig 1) on the handle to the top adjustment hole.

B: Before start, press down the throttle and quenching safety
protection unit (as shown in Fig. 1); otherwise, the engine won’t start.

2.0 When the engine runs, reduce the throttle till the half way, let the
engine runs for 1 minute at this speed, so it can warm up.
3.0 When starting the engine, stand are rear end to the right side of the
edger, away from the cutting blade.
4.0 Reasonable adjusting the cut-in depth (as shown below)

5.0 To edge, the blade should be in a vertical position.
6.0 To put the blade in a beveling position. Stop the engine, adjust the
cutter head angle and lower the blade control lever to the desired depth
(Fig 4)

7.0 To edge with the blade in the vertical position. Stop the engine. Move
the front wheel back to the original position in the front bracket, enabling
the edged to ride 15cm curb. Move blade control lever to desired depth.
4.0 Maintenance :
1.0 The engine oil should be changed once a year at minimum. Replace
the engine oil for every 100hr use of the engine.
2.0 Your JAYU edger was designed and manufactured to provide years of
trouble–free service with a minimum maintenance and adjustment.
The only maintenance required is the greasing of the fittings. It is
recommended these fittings be greased after every eight hours of
operation, or sooner if conditions are extremely dusty, wet or hot.
3.0 All nuts, bolts and screws should be tight before operation.
4.0 Before and maintenance or adjustments is performed, disconnect the
spark plug wire.
5.0 For engine maintenance, see engine manual.
6.0If the edger is not in use for a long time, follow the methods below:
1. Clean the machine.
2. Empty the fuel tank.
3. Clean the blade.
4. Grease the blades to prevent rust.
5. Put the machine in safe and dry place.
6. General machine inspection: Prior to each use of the machine, visually
inspect the entire machine thoroughly before starting the engine. If you see
any part or parts which may be worn or which may not be working properly,
do not operate the machine. Instead, immediately take the machine to your
nearest factory authorized JAYU dealer for necessary repairs and service.
