Connecting USB devices
ConnectaUSBdevicetoyourcomputerbyinsertingtheUSBplug(TypeA)
intotheUSBportonyourcomputer.
ThefirsttimeyouplugaUSBdeviceintoaparticularUSBportonyour
computer,Windowsautomaticallyinstallsadriverforthatdevice.Afterthe
driverisinstalled,you
canreconnectthedevicewithoutperformingany
additionalsteps.
BeforedisconnectingaUSBstoragedevice,makesureyourcomputerhas
finishedtransferringdatatoorfromthatdevice.ClicktheSafelyRemove
HardwareandEjectMediaiconinthenotificationareaoftheWindows
desktopscreentoremovethedevicebefore
disconnecting.
Note: Typically,Windowsdetectsanewdeviceafterconnectingit,andtheninstallsthe
driverautomatically.However,somedevicesmayrequireyoutoinstallthedriver
beforeconnecting.Checkthedocumentationprovidedbythedevice’smanufacturer
beforeconnectingthedevice.
Notes:
• IfyourUSBdeviceusesapowercord,connectthedevicetoapowersourcebefore
connectingit.Otherwise,thedevicemaynotberecognized.
• ToconnectordisconnectaUSBdeviceinsleepmode,wakeupyourcomputerfirst.
