• To improve engine reliability, better sealing of governor shaft
• To renew engine design and color
• Reduction of oil consumption, and asbestos-free gasket to comply with emission regulations.
• To reduce engine noise.

2.) CRANKCASE
1) The oil seal will be added in the hole for governor shaft.

2) The material of intake valve seat will be changed (EY20-3)
3) The material of exhaust valve seat will be changed (EY15-3, EY20-3)
4) The ball bearing will be changed
5) The Valve guide will be changed
6) The boss to install the exciter coil will be eliminated.

3.) MAIN BEARING COVER
The ball bearing will be changed.
4.) GASKET CP (HEAD)
The material will be changed to asbestos-free material (graphite).
NOTE:
When repairing the engine, wipe off oil and clean the contact surface of
crankcase and cylinder head.
5.) GASKET (TAPPET COVER)
6.) GASKET (BREATHER PLATE)
The materials will be changed to asbestos-free materials.

9.) TOP RING
The shape of the top ring will be changed.
10.) OIL RING
The specification of the oil ring will be changed.
11.) CAMSHAFT
The material will be changed.
12.) INTAKE VALVE
The distinction mark on vlalve surfaces will be elinimated.
13.) EXHAUST VALVE
The distinction mark on valve surface will be eliminated.

14.) MUFFLER
The muffler shape will be changed from cylinder type to the square type. The direc
tion of exhaust outlet will be changed from "45 degree" to "0 degree ( parallel with the
PTO).

15.) MUFFLER COVER
The change of muffler cover shape will be accompanied with the muffler change.
NOTE:
After the change of the muffler and muffler cover, the optional parts (exhaust deflector and
spark arrestor) can be installed in the field.

16.) GASKET (EXHAUST)
The material will be changed to asbestos-free material (graphite).
NOTE:
When repairing the engine, wipe off oil and clean the contact surface. Also replace
the gasket with the new one.
17.) AIR CLEANER AY
The air cleaner will be changed.
18.) GASKET (INSULATOR)
The material will be changed to asbestos-free material (graphite).
19.) GOVERNOR LEVER
The bending angle of the governor lever will be changed to secure a clearance between
the fuel pipe and the governor lever.
20.) BLOWER HOUSING
1) The welding point on the guide plate will be changed.
21.) LABEL (Model)
The design and form will be changed.

22.) RECOIL STARTER AY
1) For STD specification the recoil starter shape will be changed.
Note: The pitch of mounting holes will not be changed.

DETAIL OF THE CHANGE:
2) For pump and generator specifications the material of the recoils starter will be
changed from sheet metal to resin.

3) Pulling direction of starter knob will be unified as follows:
Direction "H" is unified in Direction "A".
Direction "B" is unified in Direction "C".
Direction "D" is unified in Direction "E".
Direction "F" is unified in Direction "G".

The new label will be on the recoil starter.

The model name will be changed.

The safety caution label will be changed.

26.) FUEL TANK CAP
The material of the outside cap will be changed from sheet metal to resin.
27.) FUEL PIPE
The fuel pipe between the fuel strainer and carburetor will be changed from straight
type to molded type.

28.) CARBURETOR
The fuel inlet nipple will be changed from "L" shape pipe to straight pipe.

Oil gauge will be changed.

30.) MAGNETO
1) FLYWHEEL
The thread hole for the flywheel puller will be eliminated.

Note: How to remove the flywheel
from the engine
1) Remove the fixing nut from flywheel.
2) Remove the starter pulley.
3) Temporally assemble the fixing nut to
the crankshaft thread until the end face.
4) Tap the fixing nut with a plastic ham-
mer to remove the flywheel.
a.) Do not tap directly with a
steel hammer.
b) Be careful not to damage the
thread portion when using a steel
hammer.
Tap the fixing nut after inserting
aluminum bar between the fixing
nut and a steel hammer.
