For every beautiful moment, a beautiful photo
At Sony, we want everyone to experience the thrill of capturing beautiful images -- easily.
That's why we build Super SteadyShot
®
image stabilization right into our camera bodies, so
you can enjoy protection against blurring caused by camera shake with any
lens. And it's
why we developed the new
200 digital SLR, so from the rst day you hold it you can amaze
people with the sharpness, clarity, vibrant color, and ne detail of the photos you take.
The
200 -- it's the exciting new addition to the
line that lets you turn beautiful moments
into beautiful photos with unprecedented ease.

Anti-dust protection for cleaner images
High-resolution 10.2-megapixel CCD
for ultra-f ine image detail
The 200 is equipped with an advanced Super SteadyShot
®
image stabiliza-
tion system to help prevent blurring caused by camera shake. Built right into
the camera body, the system works with any lens, enabling you to capture
sharp images at shutter speeds 2.5~3.5 steps slower than would otherwise
be possible. And that means you can enjoy the freedom of unencumbered
handheld shooting in situations that would normally require the use of ash or
a tripod.
All digital SLR cameras are susceptible to dust contamination when
changing lenses -- it's a fact of life. But the 200 employs built-in sys-
tems to keep the sensor clean, and your images beautiful. First, there's
an anti-static coating to help prevent dust from adhering to the low-
pass f ilter and other internal components. And to dislodge any particles
that do manage to reach the CCD, the sensor is vibrated at ultra-high
speed every time the camera is switched o.
The 200 is equipped with an exclusive Sony-developed APS-C type CCD
image sensor with 10.2 eective megapixels for data-rich, high-resolution
imaging. Improved circuit design minimizes signal noise and speeds data
transfer to the BIONZ image processing engine, which has been optimized
to meet the 200's high performance requirements. The result of this seam-
less teamwork between the image sensor and the BIONZ engine is excellent
shooting response, with superior color and clear image quality under a
wide range of lighting conditions.

Improved D-Range Optimizer for
superior exposure balance
An evolved new D-Range Optimizer helps ensure even more beautifully
balanced exposures in backlit situations. In Standard mode, it optimizes
brightness and contrast for the image overall, and in Advanced mode,
it optimizes each area of the composition separately to bring out maxi-
mum shadow and highlight detail. The D-Range Optimizer can be used on
all image formats in all metering modes.
* D-Range Optimizer Advanced uses technology provided by Apical Limited.
Versatile 40-segment
honeycomb-pattern metering
High-sensitivity ISO 3200 and 1600 settings let you take advantage of
low-light photo opportunities with condence. When shooting at these
higher settings, the BIONZ engine assures the highest possible image
quality by applying high-ISO noise reduction immediately before each
image is processed. This, together with powerful Super SteadyShot
®
image stabilization, enables you to use faster shutter speeds in low light,
and greatly expands the range of situations in which you can shoot.
Powerful BIONZ image processing engine
for more vibrant color reproduction
The 200 is equipped with a BIONZ image processing en-
gine that uses advanced Sony technologies to achieve
truly vibrant color reproduction with rich texture and
depth. In addition, faithful reproduction of color tone and
shadow/highlight detail assures superb print quality and
greater post-processing exibility.
3 frame-per-second continuous shooting
For sports and action photos, the 200 supports 3 frame-per-second con-
tinuous shooting of full-resolution JPEG Fine images, limited only by the
amount of available memory.
Accurate exposure requires accurate metering, and the 200's 40-segment,
honeycomb-pattern metering system has the versatility needed to get pre-
cise readings under a wide range of shooting conditions. It also gives you
a choice of multi-segment metering, center-weighted metering, and spot
metering mode to suit your subject and shooting conditions.
Center-cross 9-point AF system
with exclusive Eye-Start
®
activation
The 200 features a center-cross 9-point autofocus system with Sony's ex-
clusive Eye-Start
®
activation, which reduces missed shots by automatically
focusing the camera for you as soon as you put your eye to the viewnder.
The system of fers one of the quickest response times in its class, and high
predictive focusing accuracy when shooting moving subjects. In addition, the
9-point sensor layout gives you greater freedom in how subjects are framed.

Sony Alpha 200: Capture stunning images with ease.

With its 10.2-megapixel sensor and Super SteadyShot image stabilization, the Sony Alpha 200 is perfect for capturing crisp, clear photos in any situation. The camera's advanced features, such as its 9-point autofocus system and a variety of shooting modes, make it easy to get the perfect shot every time.

The Alpha 200's Super SteadyShot image stabilization system compensates for camera shake, ensuring sharp images even when shooting handheld at slow shutter speeds. This makes it ideal for capturing photos in low-light conditions or when using a telephoto lens.
