Asco Modulair 105 is an air service system that combines a filter, regulator, and lubricator (FRL) or a filter and lubricator (FL) into a single, compact unit. It is designed to improve the performance and lifespan of pneumatic tools and equipment by removing contaminants from the compressed air supply, regulating the air pressure, and adding lubricant to the air stream.

The Modulair 105 is constructed from high-quality materials and features a modular design that allows for easy installation and maintenance. It is available in a variety of configurations to meet the specific needs of different applications.

GENERAL
The components of the air treatment system are coupled for left-to-right flow (as
in symbolic representation). The air flow is indicated by an arrow on the front and
back and by IN / OUT on the body.
A right-to-left flow set-up can be obtained by turning the components through 180°
and moving the pressure gauge and bowl protections to face forwards.
Air service equipment of the Modulair 105 range exists in versions intended for
use in potentially explosive atmospheres caused by gases, vapours, mists
an/or dusts (ATEX directive 94/9/EC). Startup and maintenance are to be per-
formed as detailed below.

FILTER / REGULATOR
INSTALLATION
Place after isolation valve and before lubricator.
Position vertically (maximum inclination 5°), bowl at bottom.
Installation accessories (on request):
- top bracket and ring (for separate component),
- side brackets.
Pressure and temperature: see general specifications.

FILTER
INSTALLATION
Place near point of use, after isolation valve.
Position vertically (maximum inclination 5°), bowl at bottom.
Pressure and temperature: see general specifications.
Visual condensate level check:
- through transparent bowl (polycarbonate bowl verion),
- through small window in front of bowl protector.
Depending on the version selected: the filter is equipped with:
- A semi-automatic drain (G 1/8 connection).
Drain closes on bowl pressurization (min. 1.2 bar).
Opens when depressurized.
Can be operated manually by pressing plunger when bowl is
under pressure.
- Manual drain (fig. A).
The thread sealing paste used must be chemically compatible with the component
materials (polycarbonate bowls in particular).
MAINTENANCE
Bowls (with or without protector) of polycarbonate (PC):
Do not use a solvent, use an alkaline solution (soapy water)
for cleaning.
Filtering element: replace if clogged (available as spare part).
Filtering capacity indicated by colour coding: white for 5µm, yellow (standard) for 25µm.
REGULATOR
INSTALLATION
Place after filter and preferably before lubricator.
Never connect a regulator to a control valve outlet.
Position as desired, making sure that the adjustment knob is accessible.
Mounting options:
- Panel mounting: with retaining ring
- Surface mounting: with ring + top bracket
or with 2 side brackets
Each regulator is supplied with two G 1/2 ports (on the front and
rear) for fitting a pressure gauge or for controlled pressure tapping. Ports
concealed with trim.
Operations to be performed before use.
Installing a pressure gauge:
- Remove the trims (fig. B).
- Manually install the pressure gauge at the front (fig. C).
NOTE: Interchange the two components for right-to-left flow installation.
The G1/8 plug must be tightened at 0.8 Nm.
Installation without pressure gauge:
- Remove the 2 trims.
- Seal the port with a G 1/8 plug.
- Reinstall the trims.
