Alpha innotec heating elements allow you to heat water for various purposes, such as domestic hot water heating or heating support. They are intended to be used in conjunction with heat pumps and heating and heat pump regulators. The electric heating element can only be used in soft to medium hard drinking water up to 14 ° dH (hardness level 2). The electric heating element will fur up, overheat and fail if used in harder water. The electrical conductivity of the domestic hot water must be > 100 µS/cm and lie within the required drinking water quality.

LIMITATION OF USE
The electric heating element can only be used in soft
to medium hard drinking water up to 14 ° dH (hardness
level2). In harder water the life of the heating element
is shortened. The electric heating element will fur up,
overheat and fail.
NOTICE

reduces its heat output.
CAUTION!
The electrical conductivity of the
domestic hot water must be > 100 µS/cm
and lie within the required drinking water
quality. The sulphate and chlorine content
must not exceed 300 mg/l in total!

Electrical work
The following applies to all work to be done:
DANGER!
Risk of fatal injury due to electric current!
Electrical connection work must only be
carried out by qualied electricians.
Before opening the unit, disconnect the
system from the power supply and prevent
it from being switched back on!
DANGER!
During installation and while carrying out
electrical work, comply with the relevant
EN-, VDE and/or local safety regulations.
Comply with technical connection
requirements of the responsible power
supply company (if required by the latter)!
The power supply for electric heating elements must be
equipped with a three-phase automatic circuit-breaker

Adjustment instructions
The electric heating element contains an operating
thermostat (temperature controller) and a safety
temperature limiter.
The operating thermostat (temperature controller) can
be adjusted from approx. 15 °C– 80 °C.
The safety temperature limiter is set to a xed
temperature of 95 °C.
The safety temperature limiter trips
if the electric heating element is switched on dry.
the temperature level briey falls below the
operating thermostat (temperature sensor)
located in the middle of the electric heating
element.
if the operating thermostat (temperature
controller) fails and causes the medium
temperature to rise to >95 °C.
CAUTION!
If the safety temperature limiter has
tripped, the electric heating element
switches off automatically. If the safety
temperature limiter has tripped, the
electric heating element and/or the
system must be checked by qualied
personnel. The electric heating element
must be unlocked manually by qualied
personnel. This is done by pushing in the
release button.
CAUTION!
If the liquid level falls gradually (for
example, boiled away) the heating
elements are not protected by the
temperature limiter (parts of the heating
element dry, however, sensor tube is still
in liquid).
CAUTION!
Dry running can cause irreparable damage
to the electric heating element.
Setting symbols:

corresponds to approx. 40 °C (+/- 5 K)
corresponds to approx. 55 °C (+/- 5 K)

corresponds to approx. 80 °C (+/- 5 K)
CAUTION!
If the heating element is set to a
temperature > 55 °C for domestic water
heating, there is a risk of scalding and
increased limescale precipitation.
CAUTION!
If the heating element is used for heating
support in a buffer tank, the temperature
must be set not higher than the ow
temperature calculated by your qualied
heating personnel.
If the temperature of the heating element
is set to a higher temperature, there is
a risk of overheating of the underoor
heating.
ENERGY SAVING TIP
Select the lowest possible temperature
setting.
The higher the temperature selected the
higher the energy costs.
