Guide
Overview
To set up your PEAK
®
Economizer controller, perform the
following steps:
1. Install the controller assembly with the included
installation instructions. Refer to the PEAK Economizer
Basic Model Product Data and Installation Guide
(LIT-12013281).
2. Install additional sensors. The factory installs the
damper actuator and outdoor air sensor. You must
install any other sensors and output connections.
3. Configure the controller using the local display.
4. Run a Self-Test to verify proper operation.
Mounting the controller on a DIN rail
1. Horizontally mount a 20 cm (8 in.) section of 35 mm
(1.3 in.) DIN rail.
2. On the back of the controller, pull the two bottom
mounting clips outward (down).

3. Place the controller on the DIN rail.
4. Push the bottom mounting clips inward (up) to
secure the controller on the DIN rail.

Wiring
1. Connect the sensors to the inputs on the Economizer
controller.
2. Use spade connectors to terminate the inputs and
outputs with the Spade termination.
Note: Temperature inputs accept a 10k
thermistor type 2 sensor. Humidity inputs
accept a 0 VDC to 10 VDC sensor.
3. Use the Economizer wiring harness to connect the I/
O with the pin connector termination type.
4. Install the sensors in the appropriate air stream.

Powering the unit
When you apply 24 VAC power to the C and R terminals
(on the upper right side of the unit), the controller begins
a start-up sequence.
During the start-up sequence, the LCD displays a start-up
text and a countdown. The buttons are not functional. The
following table shows the status of the LEDs during the
start-up sequence.

After the start-up sequence finishes, the display is blank
on both lines if no alarm is active. The red Fault LED turns
off.
Commissioning with the local LCD
Understanding the local LCD
After you apply power to your rooftop unit (RTU), a start-
up countdown begins on the Economizer LCD. When the
controller is ready, the screen is blank to indicate that no
faults are present. Use the push buttons next to the LCD
to navigate through the menus.

Each menu item is either a submenu or a property. To
move the cursor, press the up and down arrow buttons.
To select an item, press the enter button. To go back to
the previous item, press the esc button.
To modify the value of a property, press the enter button
to select the property, and then press the up and down
arrow buttons to select a new value.

determines which menus are visible.

Performing a self test
The Economizer equipment self test verifies operation
of all controls and outputs available for a particular
unit configuration. The acceptance test certifies the
California Energy Code Title 24 compliance for retrofit
units. The following table shows the expected results of
the equipment self test.

Performing a system configuration
backup
Insert your flash drive into the USB port. Navigate to the
Update > Backup menu and press Enter.
During the backup, the LCD displays BKP:Wait and the
percentage of completion.
The backup completes in approximately 30 seconds and
BKP:OK appears on the screen. The percentage shows
100.
You may remove the flash drive from the USB port.
After the backup completes, a comma separated
value (.csv) restoration file is created in the top level
of the flash drive. The file name contains the date
setting in the controller, and the hours, minutes,
and seconds that elapsed since powering up the
controller, in military time format. For example, PK-
ECO1011-0_2019-04-30T114609.csv. The restoration file
size is generally less than 30 KB.
To restore the backup file to the unit and retrieve the
configuration, select Upgrade > Restore.
