To Start Cooking
There are several ways to begin cooking with your NuWave PIC Pro Chef:
• Press “Start”. Default temperature is 375˚F and set for 1 hour of cooking.
• Set temperature and press “Start”. Default is set for 1 hour of cooking.
• Set cooking time and press “Start”. Default temperature is 375˚F.
• Set temperature and time, then press “Start”.
The NuWave PIC Pro Chef will automatically stop cooking once time has expired
and a “beep” sound will alert users. The display will always show current time
during the cooking cycle. To display the remaining time, press “Time” and a
countdown will appear, marking the duration before the cycle or stage
is complete.
Lock Function:
The Lock button can be used to prevent any unwanted program changes while
cooking. This can be especially useful when cooking foods that need to be
shaken, stirred, or require the pan to be moved during the cooking process, such
as stir-fries and omelets. When cooking these foods and more, use the Lock
button to prevent any accidental button presses.
1. Once you have selected your time(s) and temperature(s), and pressed “Start”,
press “Low” and “Prog” simultaneously to lock program. The light centered to
the right of the “Prog” and “Low” button will be lit.
2. The unit will not be able to change any functions while it is locked,
except for “Pause/Clear”.
• To unlock, Press “Low” and “Prog” simultaneously to unlock program. The
light centered to the right of the “Prog” and “Low” button will shut off.
3. If you do not unlock the PIC during cooking time, once time is up, the PIC Pro
Chef will automatically unlock and the light centered to the right of the “Prog”
and “Low” button will shut off.
• You can Lock or Unlock the unit during the cooking time.
• When in lock mode, you are still able to press “Pause/Clear”.
• “E1” function will still be in effect when in operation.
Pause/Clear Function
1. To interrupt cooking time, press the “Pause/Clear” button once. This will pause
the Pro Chef the current stage. The temperature will remain listed in the display
panel, but the “F” will be blinking. To resume, press “Start”.
2. To clear the cooking mode while the PIC is in operation, press the “Pause/Clear”
button twice. The screen will be fully cleared, a “0” will appear, and the unit will
turn off.
Setting Temperature
This appliance is preset to cook on Med/High (375˚F). To reset, press the desired
temperature key then press “Start”. The temperature range will appear on the display
panel. To raise or lower the temperature in 5˚F increments, press the “+” or “-”
buttons until desired temperature is displayed. Refer to chart on page 17 for preset
temperatures. The minimum is 100°F while the maximum temperature is 575˚F.
