Lens Replacement Manual

■ Lens replacement should be performed by a service engineer.

■ When changing the lens, place the LCD projector right way up on a horizontal surface. Do not change the lens with the projector facing upwards or downwards or when

the projector is suspended.

Attaching the SD-804/LL-805/UL-806 Lens When Unpacking the LCD Projector

1. Preparing to attach the lens (1)

Take the lens adapter supplied with the

LCD projector and mount it so that the

connector on the lens is aligned with the

socket of the lens adapter.

Caution:

■ Be careful not to touch the surface

of the lens.

■ Do not touch the socket of the lens

adapter or subject it to impact as

this may lead to malfunction.

■ Do not hold the lens by the lens

shade as this may lead to injury or malfunction.

■ Be sure to remove the tape ﬁ xing the hexagonal screw on the lens.

■ Be sure to remove the lens cap. Installing the lens in the LCD projector with the

lens cap on may lead to malfunction.

2. Preparing to attach the lens (2)

Using the hexagon wrench supplied

with the LCD projector, attach the lens

adapter with the four hexagon screws on

the lens.

Connect the connector on the lens to the

socket of the lens adapter.

3. Preparing to attach the lens (3)

Unscrew the front ring from the LCD

projector and remove the cap.

Lift off the front cover to remove it.

Make sure that the terminal on the lens

and the terminal on the LCD projector are

aligned.

Support the lens with the lens adapter

attached and install it in the LCD

projector so that the adapter rib ﬁ ts into

the groove of the projector.

shade as this may lead to injury or

malfunction.

■ Take care to avoid hitting the surface of the lens on the LCD projector when

attaching the lens as this may lead to malfunction.

lens ready and mount it on the lens

Mount the blind sheet with its matte side

facing out.

Attaching the USL-801/SL-802/SL-803 Lens When Unpacking the LCD Projector

1. Lens attachment is completed.

Follow the procedures in step 1 through

step 6 for Attaching the SD-804/LL-805/

UL-806 Lens and install the lens in the

LCD projector.

3. Attaching the optional parts (2)

(SL-802/SL-803 only)

Rotate the attached blinder to the

underside of the lens and mount the

second blinder on the lens shade in the

same way.

Engage the two catches on these

blinders.

Insert the two catches on the front cover

into the LCD projector body to attach the

front cover.

Screw on the front ring.

Caution:

■ Take care not to get the blind sheet

lens on a soft cloth or similar.

Changing from a USL-801/SL-802/SL-803 Lens to an SD-804/LL-805/UL-806 Lens

1. Removing the optional parts (1)

(SL-802/SL-803 only)

Rotate the protector 90° until the catch is

at the top.

Caution:

■ Be sure to turn off the LCD projector

before changing the lens.

■ Return the lens shift to the center

position. Refer to the user manual

supplied with the LCD projector for

instructions on how to return the

lens shift to the center position.

(SL-802/SL-803 only)

Using a ﬁ ne-tipped object or the hexagon

wrench supplied with the LCD projector,

disengage the catch on the protector.

Disengage the catch on the opposite side

in the same way.

Remove the two protectors.

4. Disassembling the main unit parts

Unscrew the front ring.

Remove the front cover.

5. Removing the optional parts (4)

Rotate the blinder 90° until the catch is at

the top.

Disengage the catch on the opposite side

in the same way.

Disengage the catch on the opposite side

Remove the two blinders.

Support the lens and move the lock lever

to the left while pressing the lock lever

release button on the LCD projector.

9. Removing the lens (3)

Unplug the connector on the lens from

the socket on the lens adapter.

Using the hexagon wrench supplied

with the LCD projector, loosen the four

hexagon screws on the lens and remove

the lens adapter.

Have the replacement USL-801/SL-802/

SL-803 lens ready. Follow the procedures

in steps 1 and 2 for Attaching the SD-804/

LL-805/UL-806 Lens and mount the lens

adapter on the replacement lens.

Insert the two catches on the front cover

into the LCD projector body to attach the

front cover.

Have the blind sheet supplied with the

lens ready and mount it on the lens

shade.

Mount the blind sheet with its matte side

6. Removing the lens (3)

Unplug the connector on the lens from

the socket of the lens adapter.

Using the hexagon wrench supplied

with the LCD projector, loosen the four

hexagon screws on the lens and remove

the lens adapter.

Have the replacement USL-801/SL-802/

SL-803 lens ready. Follow the procedures

in steps 1 and 2 for Attaching the SD-804/

LL-805/UL-806 Lens and mount the lens

adapter on the replacement lens.

1. Check the surrounding focus

When an image is projected onto the

screen after the USL-801 lens has

been installed in the LCD projector, the

surrounding area may be out of focus in

relation to the center.

If this happens, adjust the ﬂ ange-back

(FB) of the lens. The surrounding focus

can be corrected by adjusting the ﬂ ange-

back.

Caution:

■ As the ﬂ ange-back has already been

adjusted at the factory prior to shipping, do not adjust more than necessary.

2. Remove the lens

Place the detached lens on a soft cloth

or similar.

Caution:

■ Be sure to turn off the LCD projector

before changing the lens.

■ Return the lens shift to the center

position. Refer to the user manual

supplied with the LCD projector for

instructions on how to return the

lens shift to the center position.

3. Remove the ﬁ xing ring

Using the small hexagon pin supplied

with the lens, loosen the setscrew on the

ﬁ xing ring and unscrew the ﬁ xing ring.

4. Loosen the setscrews

Using the small hexagon pin supplied

with the lens, loosen the three setscrews

for ﬁ xing the lens body.

5. Loosen the temporary ﬁ xing screw (1)

Using the large hexagon pin supplied

with the lens, loosen the temporary ﬁ xing

screw on the underside.

Caution:

■ Do not loosen the temporary ﬁ xing

screw on the top until the lens is

installed in the LCD projector.

6. Install the lens

Follow the procedures in Attaching the

Lens and install the lens in the LCD

projector.

Position the LCD projector at the desired

projection distance or desired projection

size.

7. Insert the FB adjustment pin

Insert the supplied FB adjustment pin in

the FB adjustment window on the lens.

Insert the narrow end of the FB

adjustment pin.

11. Fix the ﬂ ange-back adjustment (1)

To ﬁ x the focus after ﬂ ange-back

adjustment, use the large hexagon pin to

tighten the temporary ﬁ xing screw on the

top.

10. Adjust the ﬂ ange-back

If the surrounding area in the near

screen is in focus while the center of the

image is in focus, follow the procedure

below to adjust the ﬂ ange-back.

(1) Use the LCD projector remote

control or control panel to adjust the

surrounding focus in the + (plus)

direction.

(2) Move the FB adjustment pin slowly

counterclockwise until the center

comes into focus.

(3) Check the surrounding focus.

(4) If the surrounding area is still not in

focus, repeat steps (1) through (3)

above.

If the surrounding area in the far screen

is in focus while the center of the image

is in focus, follow the procedure below to

adjust the ﬂ ange-back.

(1) Use the LCD projector remote

controller or operation panel to adjust

the surrounding focus in the - (minus)

direction.

(2) Move the FB adjustment pin slowly

clockwise until the center comes into

focus.

(3) Check the surrounding focus.

(4) If the surrounding area is still not in

focus, repeat steps (1) through (3)

above.

12. Fix the ﬂ ange-back adjustment (2)

Remove the lens, which is ﬁ xed

temporarily with the screw on the top,

and place it on a soft cloth or similar.

Tighten the temporary ﬁ xing screw on the

underside in the same way.

13. Fix the ﬂ ange-back adjustment (3)

Using the small hexagon pin, tighten the

three setscrews on the lens body.

14. Fix the ﬂ ange-back adjustment (4)

Mount the ﬁ xing ring on the lens and

screw on. Mount the ﬁ xing ring with the

threaded side facing down.

15. Fix the ﬂ ange-back adjustment (5)

Tighten the setscrew on the ﬁ xing ring.

16. Install the lens

Follow the procedure in Attaching the

Lens to complete installation of the lens

in the LCD projector.

(The two blinders and two protectors are

not supplied with the USL-801 lens.)

(The two blinders and two protectors are not supplied with the USL-801 lens.)

9. Prepare for ﬂ ange-back adjustment

Project the image for adjustment from the

LCD projector onto the screen. Move the

FB adjustment pin slowly clockwise or

counterclockwise and adjust the ﬂ ange-

back while checking the projected image,

until the center of the image comes into

focus.

6. Montage des Objektivs (2)

Das in den LCD-Projektor eingeführte

Objektiv weiterhin festhalten und den

Verriegelungshebel am Projektor bis

zum Anschlag nach rechts bewegen (der

Hebel muss fest einrasten).

Vorsicht:

■ Um einen Sturz des Objektivs zu

vermeiden, nach der Anbringung

kontrollieren, dass es fest sitzt

und der Verriegelungshebel gut

eingerastet ist.

Objektiv-Montageanweisungen

■ Die Montage bzw. der Austausch des Objektivs ist vom Kundendienstpersonal durchzuführen.

■ Den LCD-Projektor zum Montieren/Austauschen des Objektivs mit der Oberseite nach oben auf eine ebene Fläche stellen. Das Objektiv nicht montieren/austauschen,

wenn der Projektor nach oben oder unten geneigt steht oder unter einer Decke hängt.

Montage des Objektivs SD-804/LL-805/UL-806 beim Auspacken des LCD-Projektors

1. Vorbereitung zur Montage des Objektivs (1)

Den mit dem LCD-Projektor gelieferten

Objektivadapter so am Objektiv

anbringen, dass der Stecker am Objektiv

mit der Buchse am Adapter zur Deckung

kommt.

Vorsicht:

■ Darauf achten, dass die Linse des

Objektivs dabei nicht berührt wird.

■ Vermeiden Sie ein Berühren

oder Anstoßen der Buchse

am Objektivadapter, da dies

Funktionsstörungen zur Folge haben kann.

■ Halten Sie das Objektiv nicht am Objektivschirm, da dies eine Verletzung oder

Funktionsstörungen zur Folge haben kann.

■ Unbedingt das Band entfernen, mit dem die Sechskantschraube am Objektiv

ﬁ xiert ist.

■ Unbedingt den Objektivdeckel abnehmen. Wenn das Objektiv mit angebrachtem

Objektivdeckel im LCD-Projektor installiert wird, kann dies eine Störung zur

Folge haben.

2. Vorbereitung zur Montage des Objektivs (2)

Den Objektivadapter unter Verwendung

des im Lieferumfang des LCD-

Projektors enthaltenen Sechskant-

Schraubendrehers mit den vier

Inbusschrauben am Objektiv befestigen.

Den Stecker am Objektiv an die Buchse

am Objektivadapter anschließen.

Den Frontring vom Objektiv abschrauben

und die Kappe entfernen.

Die Frontabdeckung anheben und

abnehmen.

Darauf achten, dass die Anschlüsse an

Objektiv und LCD-Projektor zur Deckung

kommen.

Das Objektiv mit angebrachtem

Objektivadapter gut festhalten und so

in den LCD-Projektor einführen, dass

die Rippe am Adapter in der Nut am

Projektor zu liegen kommt.

Vorsicht:

■ Das Objektiv nicht am

Objektivschirm halten, da dies eine

Verletzung oder Funktionsstörungen zur Folge haben kann.

■ Beim Einführen und Verriegeln des Objektivs darauf achten, dass dieses nicht

an die Linse im LCD-Projektor schlägt, da dies eine Funktionsstörung zur Folge

haben kann.

7. Anbringen von Teilen an der Haupteinheit (1)

Die beiden Nasen an der Frontabdeckung

in den LCD-Projektor einpassen und die

Frontabdeckung anbringen.

8. Anbringen von Teilen an der Haupteinheit (2)

Die mit dem Objektiv gelieferte Blende

am Objektivschirm anbringen.

Die Blende mit der matten Seite nach

außen anbringen.

9. Anbringen von Teilen an der Haupteinheit (3)

Den Frontring ansetzen und festdrehen.

Vorsicht:

■ Darauf achten, dass der Frontring

beim Ansetzen und Festdrehen

nicht verkantet, da dies eine

Funktionsstörung zur Folge haben

kann.

Das Objektiv ist nun einsatzbereit montiert.

(nur beim SL-802/SL-803)

Die zwei mit dem Objektiv gelieferten

Schutzabdeckungen bereitlegen und

die erste Schutzabdeckung zwischen

Frontring und Objektiveinführen.

7. Montage von Sonderzubehörteilen (4)

(nur beim SL-802/SL-803)

Die angebrachte Schutzabdeckung

drehen, bis sie sich unter dem

Objektiv beﬁ ndet, und die zweite

Schutzabdeckung auf dieselbe Weise

zwischen Frontring und Objektiv

anbringen.

Die beiden Nasen am Projektor einrasten

lassen.

8. Ausbau des Objektivs (2)

Das Objektiv gut festhalten und vorsichtig

aus dem LCD-Projektor heben.

Das ausgebaute Objektiv auf einem

wichen Lappen o. dgl. ablegen.

Vorsicht:

■ Das Objektiv beim Ausbau nicht am

Objektivschirm halten, da dies eine

Verletzung oder Funktionsstörungen

zur Folge haben kann.

■ Beim Entfernen des Objektivs darauf

achten, dass dieses nicht gegen die

Linse im LCD-Projektor schlägt, da dies eine Funktionsstörung zur Folge haben kann.

11. Montage des Objektivs (2)

Das in den LCD-Projektor eingeführte

Objektiv weiterhin festhalten und den

Verriegelungshebel am Projektor bis

zum Anschlag nach rechts bewegen (der

Hebel muss fest einrasten).

Nach der Anbringung des Objektivs

kontrollieren, dass es fest sitzt und der

Verriegelungshebel gut eingerastet ist.

Vorsicht:

■ Um einen Sturz des Objektivs zu vermeiden, nach der Anbringung kontrollieren,

dass es fest sitzt und der Verriegelungshebel gut eingerastet ist.

10. Montage des Objektivs (1)

Den Anweisungen in Schritten 5 und 6

unter Montage des Objektivs SD-804/

LL-805/UL-806 folgend, das Objektiv am

LCD-Projektor montieren. Das Objektiv

mit angebrachtem Objektivadapter gut

festhalten und im LCD-Projektor installieren.

Vorsicht:

■ Das Objektiv beim Einbau nicht am

Objektivschirm halten, da dies eine

Verletzung oder Funktionsstörungen

1. Schärfe im Umfeld

Wenn nach Montage des Objektivs

USL-801 ein Bild projiziert wird, kann

das Umfeld im Vergleich zur Bildmitte

unscharf erscheinen.

In diesem Fall das Auﬂ agemaß (FB

= engl. Flange Back) des Objektivs

einstellen. Eine eventuelle Unschärfe des

Umfelds lässt sich durch Verändern des

Auﬂ agemaßes korrigieren.

Vorsicht:

Das Auﬂ agemaß wurde werkseitig

voreingestellt und sollte nur im Bedarfsfall nachjustiert werden.

2. Das Objektiv entfernen

Das ausgebaute Objektiv auf einem

wichen Lappen o. dgl. ablegen.

Vorsicht:

■ Vor dem Auswechseln des

Objektivs unbedingt den LCD-

6. Das Objektiv installieren

Das Objektiv den Anweisungen unter

Montage des Objektivs folgend im LCD-

Projektor installieren.

Den LCD-Projektor so aufstellen, dass

der gewünschte Projektionsabstand bzw.

die geplante Bildgröße vorliegt.

7. Das FB-Einstellwerkzeug einführen

Das mitgelieferte FB-Einstellwerkzeug

in das FB-Einstellfenster am Objektiv

einführen.

Das schmale Ende des FB-

Einstellwerkzeugs einführen.

11. Das eingestellte Auﬂ agemaß ﬁ xieren (1)

Zum Fixieren des Fokus nach der

Auﬂ agemaß-Einstellung mit dem

großen Inbusschlüssel die Schraube

zur provisorischen Fixierung an der

Oberseite wieder anziehen.

10. Das Auﬂ agemaß justieren

Wenn die Bildmitte scharf ist, der Punkt

der schärfsten Abbildung des Umfelds

jedoch vor dem Bildschirm liegt, das

Auﬂ agemaß wie folgt einstellen.

(1) Die Schärfe des Umfelds mit der

Fernbedienung oder am Bedienfeld

des LCD-Projektors in Plusrichtung

(+) einstellen.

(2) Das FB-Einstellwerkzeug langsam

gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen, bis

die Bildmitte scharf abgebildet wird.

(3) Die Schärfe im Umfeld prüfen.

(4) Sollte das Umfeld noch immer nicht

scharf abgebildet werden, die obigen

Schritte (1) bis (3) wiederholen.

Wenn die Bildmitte scharf ist, der Punkt

der schärfsten Abbildung des Umfelds

jedoch hinter dem Bildschirm liegt, das

Auﬂ agemaß wie folgt einstellen.

(1) Die Schärfe des Umfelds mit der

Fernbedienung oder am Bedienfeld

des LCD-Projektors in Minusrichtung

(-) einstellen.

(2) Das FB-Einstellwerkzeug langsam im

Uhrzeigersinn drehen, bis die Bildmitte

scharf abgebildet wird.

(3) Die Schärfe im Umfeld prüfen.

(4) Sollte das Umfeld noch immer nicht

scharf abgebildet werden, die obigen

Schritte (1) bis (3) wiederholen.

12. Das eingestellte Auﬂ agemaß ﬁ xieren (2)

Das provisorisch mit der oberen

Schraube ﬁ xierte Objektiv ausbauen

und auf einem weichen Lappen

o. dgl. ablegen. Die Schraube zur

Provisorischen Fixierung an der

Unterseite auf dieselbe Weise wieder

anziehen.

13. Das eingestellte Auﬂ agemaß ﬁ xieren (3)

Mit dem kleinen Inbusschlüssel die drei

Feststellschrauben am Objektivgehäuse

anziehen.

14. Das eingestellte Auﬂ agemaß ﬁ xieren (4)

Den Fixierring am Objektiv ansetzen auf

aufschrauben. Den Fixierring mit dem

Gewinde nach unten ansetzen.

15. Das eingestellte Auﬂ agemaß ﬁ xieren (5)

Die Feststellschraube am Fixierring

anziehen.

16. Das Objektiv installieren

Das Objektiv den Anweisungen unter

Montage des Objektivs folgend im

LCD-Projektor installieren, um die

Objektivmontage abzuschließen.

(Das Objektiv USL-801 wird ohne die beiden Blenden und Schutzabdeckungen geliefert.)

9. Die Auﬂ agemaß-Einstellung vorbereiten

Zur Einstellung ein Bild vom LCD-

Projektor auf den Bildschirm projizieren.

Das FB-Einstellwerkzeug langsam im

oder gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen

und das Auﬂ agemaß verändern, bis

das projizierte Bild in der Mitte des

Bildschirms scharf abgebildet wird.
