oftheroadahead.InorderfortheGPSfeaturestoworkproperly,thetopcasemusthaveaclearviewof
thesky.Foroptimumradarandlasersensitivity,centerPASSPORTiQbetweenthedriverandpassenger
andensurethebackofthedevicefacesforward.
MountPASSPORTiQawayfromwindshield wipers,othersolidobjects,andheavilytintedareasthat
mightobstructtheradarantennaorlaserlens.
Mountinginstructions
PASSPORTiQ’sEasyMountwindshieldbracketisdesignedforunobtrusiveandhasslefreemounting.
ToattachtheEasyMountbrackettoyourwindshield,pressthesuctioncupfirmlyontotheglass,then
flipthelockingclamptoensurethesuctioncupisadheredtothewindshieldsecurely.Besuretokeep
bothyourwindshieldandthesuctioncupclean.
ToattachPASSPORTiQtotheEasyMountbracket,slidePASSPORTiQdownwardsotheEasyMount
bracketlocksintotheslotonthebackofthedevice.
ToadjustPASSPORTiQonyourwindshield,movetheadjustableEasyMountbracketarmtoyour
preferredview.
YoucanleavetheEasyMountbracketinplaceonyourwindshieldandeasilyremovePASSPORTiQby
pressingtheEasyMountreleasebuttonandslidingPASSPORTiQoffthemount.Again,besureto

OneofthegoalsofESCORTistoprovidecustomerswiththemostcompleteandaccuratecartography

PowerOptions
ToturnonPASSPORTiQ,slidethepowerswitchontopofthedevicetotheright.
ToturnoffPASSPORTiQ,slidethepowerswitchontopofthedevicetotherightandholdfor
fourseconds.PASSPORTiQwillshutdowncompletely.(Note:TouchingCancelwillswitch
PASSPORTiQintoBatteryOnlymode.)
Whenconnectedto12voltswitchedpower(lighterplugturnson/offwiththeignition),
PASSPORTiQwillautomaticallygointoSuspendmode(forapproximatelytwohours)whenyou
turnofftheignition.Amessagewillappearacknowledgingthischange. Suspendmodeprovides
aquickstartonce12voltpowerisappliedagain.
Whenconnectedtounswitched12voltpower(lighterplug hasaconstant12volts),usethe
powerswitchtoshutoffcompletely.UnpluggingthecordwillputPASSPORTiQintoSuspend
mode(seeabove).
TolockPASSPORTiQ’sscreen,slidethepowerswitchtotheleft.PuttingPASSPORTiQinlock
modewhennotinuseorwhiletravelingwillkeepthedevicefromusingitsinternalbattery.
InitialSetup
UponpoweringonPASSPORTiQforthefirsttime,youwillbeaskedtoselectyourpreferredlanguage,
voice(fordirectionalprompts andradar/laseralerts),andtimezone.Simplytouchtheoptionsyou’dlike
toselectandsavethesettings.TheSafetyWarningscreenappears.

BatteryChargeStatus
ThebatterychargestatusisrepresentedbythebatteryiconattheupperleftoftheMainMenuscreen.
Whentheiconshowsthreebars,thebatteryis fullycharged.
GPSStatus
Thesatelliteiconattheupperleftofthescreenindicateswhetherornotyouarereceivingasatellite
signal.Ifaredlineappearsonthisicon,PASSPORTiQisnotacquiringasatellitesignal.
Viewinglatitudeandlongitudecoordinates
FromtheMainMenuscreen,touchthesatelliteicon toviewthelatitudeandlongitudecoordinatesof
yourcurrentlocation.

Thisscreenletsyousetuparoutetoanaddressinyourcity,inanothercity,inanotherstate,ortoa
restaurant,gasstation,park,hospital,orothercommonpubliclocale.Onceyousetyourhomeaddress,
youcancalculatearoutetogohomefromwhereveryoutravel.Youcanalsosearchforaparticular
pointofinterestbynameinSearchorbrowsethembycategoryinBrowse.Favoritesallowsyoutoget
directionsfromyourlocationtoplacesyouhavesavedinyourfavoriteslist.Recentallowsyouto
navigatetoyourmostrecentdestinationswithouthavingtoenterthemagain.

TheroutetoyourdestinationaddressisbasedonyourcurrentGPSlocation.BesurePASSPORTiQisin

TocreatearoutetoanaddressfromyourcurrentGPSlocationtoadestinationinthesamecity:
1. TouchGoTo...ontheMainMenuscreen,thentouchAddressontheGoTo…screen.Thecityin
whichyouarelocateddisplays,alongwithcitiestowhichyouhaverecentlynavigated.Ifthisis
thefirsttimeyouareusingthedevice,onlythenameofthecityofyourcurrentGPSlocation
displays.
2. Onceyouselectthecity,theEnterStreetNamekeypadopens.Enterthenameofthestreet.
3. Afterenteringafewcharacters,PASSPORTiQdisplaysalistofstreetnamesthatincludethose

characters.Ifalistisnotautomaticallydisplayed, simplytouchNEXTtohavePASSPORTiQ
searchforthestreetname.

4. Touchthestreetnameyouwant.Ifthestreetnameisnotonthelist,touchBackandreenter
thestreetname.TheEnterHouseNumberkeypadopens.
5. Enterthehousenumber,thentou chNEXT.Theaddresscardforyourdestinationdisplays.
6. TouchGo.Thedevicecalculates yourroute.Whenthecalculationiscomplete ,theroute
ishighlightedontheMapView;theMyCarmarkershowsyourstartinglocation,andthe

Youmightknowtheintersectingstreetnamesbutnottheexactaddressofyourdestination.Youcan
enteranintersectiontogetroutinginstructions.
1. TouchGoTo...onthemainMenuscreen,thentouchAddressontheGoTo…screen.The
Addressisin...listopens.
2. Touchthecityname.OrtouchOthercitytoenteritontheEnterCity
Namekeypad.
3. WhentheEnterStreetNamekeypaddisplays,typethestreetname.Afterenteringafew
