Retaining Clips
Description
The spring terminal for the I/O module is only inserted into the front socket and is not screwed in. This is to ensure the spring terminal can
be removed from the front socket. To prevent the spring terminal from being released from the front socket of the I/O module, attach the
retaining clips to the spring terminal.
The retaining clips are available as accessories.

Removing
Removing the Retaining Clips
To remove the retaining clips (1) from the spring terminals (2), press and hold the three brackets (3 and 4), and carefully pull out the retai-
ning clips (1).
Caution!
Damaged or disconnected cables
Cables may be inadvertently damaged or disconnected from the spring terminal while removing the retaining clips.
When removing the retaining clips, make sure all cables are attached to the spring terminal properly.
Note
In most cases, one side will be released first and the other side will remain engaged. If this occurs, remove the side
that is still engaged by carefully rotating it.
Tip
Remove long side (3) first, followed by the two short snap hooks (4). This process has proven to be the simplest way
to remove the retaining clips.
