OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
YARD RAMP WITH MECHANICAL HAND CRANK
YR Series
1) Raise yard ramp 2” above trailer bed height by rotating
the hand crank lever on the landing gear. Yard ramp
must be on a level surface.
2) Back trailer slowly against yard ramp bumpers. Turn
off engine and set emergency brake on truck. Position
wheel chocks (by others) per OSHA requirements to
prevent trailer movement. Attach safety chains on yard
ramp to trailer to provide maximum safety.
3) Using the hand crank, lower yard ramp lip to meet the
bed of the truck. Continue cranking until the wheels or
landing gear raise approximately 2-3” off the ground.
This will allow the ramp to float while loading or
unloading the trailer.
CAUTION: Do not continue to crank wheels up once
an increase in the resistance of the crank is felt.
Damage could result.
4) Load or unload trailer as needed. Adjust yard ramp
height as necessary to maintain 2-3” minimum
clearance between bottom of landing gear and ground.
5) When loading/unloading is completed, raise yard ramp
2” above the trailer bed. Remove safety chains and
chocks and let trailer pull away.
YARD RAMP W/HYDRAULIC HANDPUMP LIFT
& PNEUMATIC TIRES
Series YR-HL, SY and AY
1) Make sure that the hydraulic release valve is closed.
Raise yard ramp 2” above trailer bed height using the
hand pump on the landing gear. Yard ramp must be on
level surface.
2) Back trailer slowly against yard ramp bumpers. Turn
off engine and set emergency brake on truck. Position
wheel chocks (by others) per OSHA requirements to
prevent trailer movement.

3) Lower the yard ramp to the trailer bed by using the
pressure release. Leave valve open, this will allow the
ramp to float while loading or unloading the trailer.
4) Load or unload trailer as needed.
5) When loading/unloading is completed, close the valve
and raise the yard ramp 2” above the trailer bed.
Remove safety chains and chocks and let trailer pull

YARD RAMP WITH MECHANICAL DOCKLEVELER
YRD-FM Series
1) Raise yard ramp to approximately trailer bed height by
rotating the hand crank lever on the landing gear. Yard
ramp must be on a level surface.
2) Back trailer slowly against yard ramp bumpers. Turn
off engine and set emergency brake on truck. Position
wheel chocks (by others) per OSHA requirements to
prevent trailer movement. Attach safety chains on yard
ramp to trailer to provide maximum safety.
3) Actuate dockleveler with lever. Pull back in one
continuous motion until dockleveler plate is straight up
and leaning back toward the ramp. Push the leveler
forward to cause the plate to fall into the bed of the
trailer. See Edge-o-Dock owner’s manual for adjusting
instructions.
4) Load or unload trailer as needed. The dockleveler will
float with the trailer, lowering as the trailer is being
loaded or raising as the trailer is being unloaded. The
dockleveler is designed to service trailers from 5”
above ramp height to 5” below ramp height.
