OPERATION
Inserttheprobeplugintothereceptaclelocatedonthefront
ofthethermometer.Theplugandreceptaclearekeyedwith
asmallandalargepin.Makecertainthattheplugisinserted
properly.
PresstheON/OFFbuttontoturntheuniton.
Pressthe°C/°Fbuttontodisplaythetemperaturein
Fahrenheit(°Fwillappearonthedisplay)orCelsius(°Cwill
appearonthedisplay).
Setthethermometertodesiredresolution0.1°or1°.
Placetheprobetipincontactwiththematerialtobe
measuredandreadthetemperatureonthedisplay.
MAX MODE
IntheMAXmode,thethermometerwilldisplaythehighest
temperaturereadingachieved.Itdoesnotdisplaythecurrent
temperatureifitfallsbelowtheMAXreading.
Example:IntheMAXmode

Theoffsetcontrolsaresetatthefactorytoallowforthe
variationsfoundinstandardthermocouples.Byadjusting
theoffsetcontrols,foundonthesideoftheunit,you
canoptimizemeasurementaccuracyforaparticular
thermocoupleataparticulartemperature.
ThisunithasbeencalibratedTraceable® to standards
providedbytheNationalInstituteofStandardsand
Technology(NIST).Whileoffsetadjustmentsare
possible,theywillinterferewiththefactorycalibration.
Traceable®recalibrationmustbemadebythefactory(see
Recalibration).
BENCH STAND/WALL MOUNT
Thisunitissuppliedwithabenchstandthatisonthebackof
thecase.Locatetherectangularslotsontheraisedportion
ofthebackoftheunit.Withyourthumbandforenger,liftthe
standout.Toclosethestand,simplysnapitshut.
Thisunitmaybewallmountedbyusingascrew.Setthe
screwintothewallatthelocationdesired,theheadofthe
screwwillneedtoslipintothereceptacleonthebackof
theunit,sodonotsetthescrewushtothewall.Oncethe
screwhasbeenproperlyset,hangtheunitinplacebysliding
thereceptacleonthebackoftheunitovertheheadofthe
screw.
