SlopeSafety
Operatethemachineupanddownslopeswith
theheavyendofthemachineuphill.Weight
distributionchangeswithattachments.This
attachmentmakesthefrontofmachinetheheavy
end.
Keeptheattachmentintheloweredposition
withtheloaderarmsretractedwhenonslopes.
Raisingtheattachmentorextendingtheloader
armsonaslopeaffectsthestabilityofthemachine.
Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtolossofcontrol
andtip-overaccidents,whichcanresultinsevere
injuryordeath.Operatingthemachineonany
slopeoruneventerrainrequiresextracaution.
Establishyourownproceduresandrulesfor
operatingonslopes.Theseproceduresmust
includesurveyingthesitetodeterminewhich
slopesaresafeformachineoperation.Always
usecommonsenseandgoodjudgmentwhen
performingthissurvey.
Slowdownanduseextracareonhillsides.Ground
conditionscanaffectthestabilityofthemachine.
Avoidstartingorstoppingonaslope.Ifthe
machinelosestraction,proceedslowly,straight
downtheslope.
Avoidturningonslopes.Ifyoumustturn,turn
slowlyandkeeptheheavyendofthemachine
uphill.

Operation
Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthemachinefrom
thenormaloperatingposition.
InstallingandRemoving
theAttachment
RefertotheOperatorsManualforthetractionunitfor
theinstallationandremovalprocedure.
Important:Beforeinstallingtheattachment,
positionthemachineonalevelsurface,ensure
thatthemountplatesarefreeofanydirtordebris,
andensurethatthepinsrotatefreely.Ifthepins
donotrotatefreely,greasethem.
Note:Alwaysusethetractionunittoliftandmove
theattachment.T omoveanaugerwithoutthedrive
head,slingastrapovereachendoftheaugerand
hoistittothedesiredlocation.
WARNING
Ifyoudonotfullyseatthequick-attach
pinsthroughtheattachmentmountplate,
theattachmentcouldfalloffthemachine,
crushingyouorbystanders.
Ensurethatthequick-attachpinsarefully
seatedintheattachmentmountplate.

Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.Fluidinjected
intotheskinmustbesurgicallyremoved

cradlearms.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,andlowertheloaderarms.
2.Tilttheaugerfullyrearwardsothatitrestsin
thecradle.
3.Raisetheloaderarmssothatthedrivehead
clearstheground.
4.Maneuverthedriveshaftintotheendofthe
augershaftorextension(ifapplicable)asshown
inFigure4.

DiggingaHole
Important:Beforedigging,ensurethatthe
groundisfreeofanytrashordebris.
1.Raisetheloaderarmsandrotatetheattachment
plateforwardsothatthedriveheadisfreefrom
thecradlearms.
2.Lowertheaugertothesoilatthesiteofthe
proposedhole.
3.TogglethethrottleswitchtoHIGHIDLE.
4.Engagetheforwardowhydraulicstobegin
digging.
5.Lowertheaugerslowlyasthesoilisloosened.
Asyoudigdeeper,movethetractionunit
backwardorforwardasrequiredtokeepthe
augervertical(Figure7).
Note:Iftheaugerslows,decreasethe
downwardpressurefromtheloaderarms.If
theaugerbecomesstuck,shutofftheauxiliary
hydraulics,engagethereverseowhydraulics,
andslowlyraisetheaugeroutofthehole.
Important:Donotmovethetractionunit
awaytoofarfromtheholewhiledigging;
otherwise,youcandamagethegearboxor
auger.

AcompanyinvolvedinaProp65lawsuitreachingasettlementmayberequiredtouseProp65warningsforitsproducts,butothercompanies
makingsimilarproductsmayhavenosuchrequirement.
TheenforcementofProp65isinconsistent.
CompaniesmayelectnottoprovidewarningsbecausetheyconcludethattheyarenotrequiredtodosounderProp65;alackofwarningsfora
productdoesnotmeanthattheproductisfreeoflistedchemicalsatsimilarlevels.
WhydoesToroincludethiswarning?
Torohaschosentoprovideconsumerswithasmuchinformationaspossiblesothattheycanmakeinformeddecisionsabouttheproductstheybuyand
use.T oroprovideswarningsincertaincasesbasedonitsknowledgeofthepresenceofoneormorelistedchemicalswithoutevaluatingthelevelof
