WHEN USING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES, BASIC PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE
FOLLOWED TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, AND INJURY TO PERSONS,
INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:
Read all instructions before using this fireplace heaters
This heating unit is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes and curtains at
least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front of the heating unit.
Extreme caution is necessary when any heating unit is used by or near children or invalids and
whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
Always unplug the heating unit when not in use.
DO NOT operate any heating unit with a damaged cord or plug or after the unit malfunctions,
has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heating unit to an authorized service
facility for examination. Electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
DO NOT use outdoors.
This heating unit is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, and similar indoor
locations. Never locate heating unit where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
DO NOT run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or the like.
Arrange cord away from traffic area where it will not be tripped over.
To prevent overloading a circuit, do not plug the heater into a circuit that already has other
appliances working.
Connect to properly grounded outlets only. This heating unit is for use on 120 volts. This
appliance has a grounded plug.
It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the AC outlet
(receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified
electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.
To disconnect the heating unit, first turn off the product, then grip the plug and pull it from the
wall outlet. Never pull by the cord.
DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may
cause an electrical shock or fire, or damage the heater.
To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft
surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
A heating unit has hot and glowing parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or
flammable liquids are used or stored.
DO NOT modify this heating unit. Use it only as described in this manual. Any other use not
recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
If an extension cord is required, it must be rated at 14 AWG with a grounded plug and not less
than 2000 watts. Avoid the use of all non-compliant extension cords, because the extension
cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire.
The output of this heating unit may vary and its temperature may become intense enough to
burn exposed skin. Use of this heating unit is not recommended for persons with reduced
sensitivity to heat or an inability to react to avoid burns.
DO NOT burn wood or other materials in this fireplace.
DO NOT strike fireplace glass.
This unit includes fail-safe devices to prevent failure and/or damage. If the unit shuts off
automatically for any reason, please refer to the troubleshooting section for further instructions.
When transporting or storing the fireplace and cord, keep in a dry place, free from excessive
vibration and store so as to avoid damage.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
SET UP THE FIREPLACE HEATER
1. Place the heating unit on a firm, level open surface free from obstructions and at least 3 ft.
(0.9m) away from any combustible materials. DO NOT use on an instable surface such as
bedding or deep carpeting.
2. Be sure the heating unit is not in a position where it may be tripped over.
3. This heater is for use on 120 volts. Plug the power cord directly into an unused grounded 120
volt 15 amp or higher circuit receptacle.
HOW TO OPERATE THE FIREPLACE HEATER
This section will explain the function of each convenient LED control.
NOTE: The heater may emit a slight harmless odor when first used. This odor is a normal condition
caused by initial heating of internal heater parts and will not occur again.
1. Turn the heater on:
Press the power button on the control panel or on the remote control panel. LED will light up.
This indicates the unit is in POWER mode.
2. Set the heating level:
Press the HEAT button on the control panel to switch between high and low heat and the
corresponding HIGH (H) or LOW (L) LED will be lit. HIGH heat level uses 1500Watts; LOW heat
level uses 1000watts. Press the HEAT button a third time and the unit will display the flame
pattern only without the heater running.
3. Setting the room temperature (TEMP):
Press the temperature adjustment (TEMP) button “UP” and “DOWN” to set the desired
temperature. You can choose a desired temperature between 50F and 90F.
4. Setting the Heater Timer (TIME):
Press the “TIME” button on the control panel to set the heater timer. You can choose a number
between 0 and 24 hours. 0 means there is no set running time and heater will run continuously.
Press any number between 1 and 24 hours and the heater will run that number of hours, then
automatically stop.
5. Change between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Press the C/F button once and it will show the temperature in Fahrenheit. Press a second time
and it will show Celsius. Press a third time and the LED will shut off.
Performance Suggestions
To assure maximum performance of the fireplace heater, please note the following
recommendations:
1) For best result, do not locate the fireplace heater in an area with a high rate of air filtration and
movement as the warm air will be exhausted.
2) Try placing the fireplace heater near a warmer inside wall and direct the output towards a cooler
outside wall. The cooler outside wall will tend to draw the generated heat towards itself, which will
allow for more efficient heating.
3) Placing the fireplace heater next to a cold air return will draw the heat away from area to be
heated. Try closing or covering the cold air return. This will allow for more efficient heating.
Experiment with the placement of the fireplace heater to see what works best for you.
4) To ensure maximum efficiency, a 40% (minimum) relative humidity should be maintained in the
heated environment.
5) The fireplace heater is designed to operate for maximum efficiency up to 80-82 degree range.
Due to the soft heat concept, temperatures at 68 degrees feel as though it were 72 degrees. This is
due to the heat mixing with humidity evenly for head-to-toecomfort.
6) When the fireplace heater is placed in an isolated area, i.e. basement or recreation area, the
delivery registers and air return grills of the existing system should be closed in that area if possible.
7) Try lowering your central heating system to a lower temperature and placing the fireplace heater
in the area you spend the majority of your time. Now set the fireplace heater to your comfort level.
This will help reduce your overall energy consumption.
8) When heating larger areas, place the fireplace heater in a central location. If a ceiling fan is
nearby, try using it at the same time to help distribute the heat evenly.
9) Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and
whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
10) To disconnect the fireplace heater, turn controls to off, then remove the plug from the outlet.
Always unplug the fireplace heater when not in use.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Why does the blower fan not work after I have turned on the heater power button?
The blower fan will not work until the heating element is hot enough to heat the air passing by. It will
normally turn on after about 10 seconds.
Why does the blower fan keep running after I have turned off the power button?
The blower fan will continue to run until the proprietary heat chambers have cooled down. After a
few minutes the fan will shut off automatically.
The heater's airflow seems to have diminished?
Make sure the rear intake is not blocked and that the filter is clean. Follow the filter maintenance
procedure to clean the filter.
Once I initially plug the unit in and turn it on, how long will it take to heat my room?
Generally, it takes less than an hour. Please remember that with any type of heating process there
are many variables: size of the room, how well the room is insulated, how many doors/windows,
how much bare concrete, outside temperature etc.
Can I use the heater to heat multiple rooms at the same time?
Yes. Heating will vary based on how open your floor plan is and the sizes of the rooms involved.
My home is not insulated very well, will this heater help me?
Yes, but it will take a little longer to heat the room initially and the outside temperature will also have
an impact on heating time. Once the room has reached the desired temperature it will cycle on and
off accordingly.
Can the heater be used in a bathroom?
It is not recommended due to the high level of moisture in a bathroom.
Will I be able to use the heater in a basement or garage?
Yes, but keep in mind that rooms with little insulation will not retain the heat as efficiently. Bare
concrete floors which act as a heat sink with any type of heating will absorb some of the heat.
Can I use more than one heater at a time?
Yes, but you should make sure they are not on the same circuit. Each heater and appliance should
be on its own circuit.
Can I use the heater on a job/construction site?
The heater was not designed to be used in a high dust construction environment. Using the heater
for this purpose will void your warranty.
Can I move the heater around while it is operating?
It is not recommended to move any portable heater while it is operating. We recommend moving the
heater only once the fan has completely turned off.
Can I use the heater and another appliance at the same time?
Yes, as long as they are not on the same circuit.
Can I use an extension cord, surge protector, or power strip with my heater?
It is not recommended. It is designed to plug directly into a grounded 120 volt 15 amp or higher
circuit receptacle. However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord should be No. 14 AWG
minimum size and rated not less than 2000 watts. The extension cord should be a 3 wire cord with a
grounding type cord and plug connector.
I don't have a grounded outlet; can I use a cord adaptor or remove the grounding plug?
NO. If you don't have a grounded outlet, contact a licensed electrician in your area for advice.
Removing or altering any part of the heater is unsafe and also will void the warranty.
