Detector.ItcanbeusedinallopenareaswherePhotoelectricSmoke
Detectorsarerequired,includingin-ductapplications.Thecomputer-
designedsmokechambermakestheCPS-24Nwellsuitedfor
detectingsmolderingresaswellasfast-amingres.
Operation
TheCPS-24Nphotoelectricsmokedetectorutilizesonebicolored
LEDforindicationofstatus.Inanormalstandbyconditionthe
LEDashGreenevery3seconds.Whenthedetectorsensesthatits
sensitivityhasdriftedoutsidetheULlistedsensitivitywindowthe
LEDwillashRedevery3seconds.Whenthedetectorsensessmoke
andgoesintoalarmthestatusLEDwilllatchonRed.
ThedetectorutilizesaninfraredLEDlightsourceandsilicon
photodiodereceivingelementinthesmokechamber.Inanormal
standbycondition,thereceivingelementreceivesnolightfrom
thepulsingLEDlightsource.Intheeventofare,smokeenters
thedetectorsmokechamberandlightisreectedfromthesmoke
particlestothereceivingelement.Thelightreceivedisconvertedinto
anelectronicsignal.
FireJudgementsignalsareprocessedandcomparedtoareference
level,andwhenveconsecutivesignalsexceedingthereferencelevel
arereceivedwithinaspeciedperiodoftime,thetimedelaycircuit
triggerstheSCRswitchtoactivatethealarmsignal.ThestatusLED
lightscontinuouslyduringthealarmperiod.
