Connecting Cables
1. To access to the Internet, connect one end of an
Ethernet cable to the WAN port of RG54SE, and the
other end to your xDSL/Cable Modem.
2. For wired connection to the network devices, connect
one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN port (1~4) of
RG54SE, and the other end to your computers/
devices.
3. For wireless connection, install the wireless adapters
onto your computers, and you have to configure re
spective set tings on your computers (refer to your
wireless adapter's manual) to take full advantages of
the RG54SE.
WAN Port
The 10/100Mbps Ethernet
port provides connection to
your xDSL/Cable modem or
Ethernet devices.
Power Jack
Connect the enclosed
power adapter to provide
power to the RG54SE.

The MSI RG54SE provides you a convenient utility to cus-
tomize the network settings. Whenever you want to con-
figure the respective settings, open your web browser (e.
g. Internet Explorer), and type the default IP address
192.
168.1.254 in the Address bar and press [Enter]. Then, type
admin in the User name and Password box, then click OK.

Step 3 The Home window of the Configuration Utility will appear
as below, which provides two options to select: Setup
Wizard and Customized Configuration.
The Setup Wizard provides a step-by-step to guide you
through the basic settings of the gateway. Generally, after
completing the steps in this option, your RG54SE can con-
nect to the ISP and your client computers can access to the
Internet without any problem. If you want to configure the
settings according your network environment, please re-
fer to the instruction in the User Manual to complete the
settings in Customized Configuration.
Select Setup Wizard then click Next to continue Step 4.

Step 4 According to the connection type you are using, click the
respective option to configure the settings. If you are not
sure of which setting to select, please contact your Internet
Service Provider.
Click one of the options above and enter the information
required, and then click Next to continue Step 5.
Step 5
1. Static IP
If your broadband access is through a xDSL modem and
your ISP assigned you a static IP address, select this option.
Enter the Internet IP Address acquired from the ISP
provider.

2. Dynamic IP
If your broadband access is through a cable modem, se-
lect this option. Before using this setting, your computer
should be registered on the ISP ’s network.
3. PPPoE
If your broadband access is through a xDSL modem and
your ISP did not assign you a static IP address, select this
option. Enter your User Name and Password for dial-up
network.

4. PPTP/L2TP
These options are used mostly in Europe. Select your IP
Mode and enter My IP Address, Server IP Address,
User Name and Password. (For details on setting the
two options, please ask your ISP for more instructions.)
Step 6 Click Finish then select Reboot to enable the settings.

After the settings are completed, you can fine tune the
settings by selecting Customized Configuration. The
steps are the same as Step 2, but select Customized
Configuration instead, then click Advanced. For further
information, please refer to the User Manual in the CD-ROM
or visit MSI website:

Appendix
Before you connect to the network, please make sure the
network adapter in your computer is configurated properly.
Follow the steps below to finish the settungs.
